Summary

Axon seeks a Writer II to prepare, review, revise, and maintain various documents including work instructions, SOPs, process flows, and troubleshooting guides. The role involves converting technical information into clear and concise formats, managing a document control system, and collaborating with engineers, managers, and trainers. Responsibilities also include creating online documentation, video tutorials, and ensuring consistent writing style and terminology across Manufacturing. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong Microsoft application skills, and the ability to write for diverse audiences. Experience with Axon products and Lean manufacturing is preferred.

Your Impact 

Prepare, review, revise, and maintain documents including work instructions, SOPs, process flows, and troubleshooting guides. Join a collaborative team of technical writers to document processes and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Day-to-Day

  • Convert technical information into clear and concise process flows and work instructions
  • Create and maintain information architecture
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Managers, and Trainers
  • Manage a document control tracking system, maintaining records of work and revisions
  • Produce content for online documentation, video tutorials, and screen text
  • Ensure consistent training writing style and terminology across Manufacturing
  • Support the building of structures, policies, and workflows
  • Assist with projects involving peers, engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel
  • Communicate process flow and work instruction changes to the training team
  • Maintain and track process flow communications for ISO audits

Basic Qualifications

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to write for diverse audiences, including non-technical users and IT experts
  • Strong Microsoft Application Skills
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Axon Products
  • Experience developing work instructions, SOPs, and video tutorials
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge
  • Experience in technical, engineering, or manufacturing organizations
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Serbian

The pay: Axon’s hourly pay philosophy is made up of base pay and bonus. The starting hourly pay for this role is USD 23.08 in the lowest geographic market and USD 34.62 in the highest geographic market. The actual hourly pay is dependent upon many factors such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
