Position Overview: 
  
The Accounting Manager position plays a pivotal role not only within the Zones Accounting team but also as a key collaborative partner with sales and operations. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading a variety of accounting responsibilities including timely and accurate recording of business activity in accordance with GAAP, prepare and review month-end /quarter-end journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, financial analysis, audit support and financial reporting. Identify and implement process improvements that increase accuracy and efficiency. Identify trends or issues that require management’s attention; demonstrate ability to understand broad business and financial issues. Mentor and manage Senior/Staff Accountants (2-3) and foster their professional development and growth. The Accounting Manager should also have a strong understanding of ASC 330, ASC 350, ASC 606, and ASC 842.
This role is required to be onsite at the HQ1 minimum 2 days per week - specifically Tuesday and Thursday 
  
What you’ll do as the Accounting Manager:

  • Review month end journal entries, analyses and account reconciliations over areas such as leases, inventory, cash, payroll, commissions, capitalized software and PP&E
  • Prepare global consolidations and assist in compiling financial reporting package
  • Partner cross functionally to clearly communicate accounting operations with other departments to ensure operational excellence
  • Perform in a high volume, deadline driven role, reporting in line with the group timetable 
  • Lead revenue accounting processes under ASC 606 by ensuring proper revenue and cost recognition in accordance with GAAP
  • Identify and propose changes to inefficient or ineffective internal policies and procedures
  • Provide insightful analysis and understanding of performance monthly for both finance and operations leadership teams
  • Assist with external auditing and reporting requirements, preparing and reviewing necessary prepared by client documentation
  • Function as a utility player for special projects and ad-hoc requests
  • Foster a fun team environment and play an active role in the development of Senior and Staff Accountants
What you will bring to the team: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, Master’s degree and CPA/CMA preferred
  • 4-6 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance with emphasis in preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Conceptual and practical understanding of U.S. generally accepted accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Self-starter with a problem solving, “Can Do” mentality
  • Team player with amazing verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability and desire to adapt quickly to change

Compensation:
Qualified candidates can expect a salary range of $110,000-$125,000.
Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Washington area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
