Accounting Specialist (Fixed Assets & Leases)

The Role

As Netflix grows globally, we continue to look for the best and brightest talent to scale with our growth. We are looking for an Accounting Specialist professional to support our Operations Accounting function. Our Operations Accounting team is responsible for global accounting of Operating Expenses (Cost of Revenue, Marketing, Technology & Development and General & Administrative), as well as fixed assets, prepaid, other assets, accruals and leases. 

This position will be based in our Manila office and will be part of our global Operations Accounting team. This position will interact with global teams and will work cross-functionally across time zones with our US and international offices. The ideal candidate will be very detail oriented, able to analyze and process large volumes of data with high accuracy, have excellent communication skills, capable of multi-tasking and have a strong understanding of accounting principles. 

Responsibilities

• Partner with Operations Accounting teams across the globe to understand the Operations Accounting workflow.

• Preparation of monthly account reconciliations (fixed assets and related areas)

• Preparation of journal entries

• Recording of depreciation expense

• Reconciliation of lease payment to lease software subledger

• Process fixed assets additions

• Perform asset disposal and retirement

• Assisting in the physical inventory process for fixed asset

• Reconciliation of assets import/export data to ERP.

• Support monthly accounting close activities as needed

• Perform other duties and ad hoc tasks to support new initiatives and contribute to the organization’s goals

• Open to work during regular business hours, with flexibility to slide shifts/work overtime to certain critical business periods.

Education & Experience

• Accounting or Finance background

• 4+ years of relevant experience

• Degree in a relevant field of study

• Experience at a Global company a plus

• Highly proficient in Excel (Google sheet experience is a plus)

• Knowledge of cloud-based ERP systems (Workday experience is a plus)
