Project description

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Avaloq Release Manager to lead and manage the release management lifecycle for Avaloq Core Banking System implementations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the deployment of software releases, patches, and updates across different environments. This role demands strong organizational skills, an understanding of Avaloq’s architecture, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth, timely, and successful releases.

Responsibilities

Release Management:

Plan, manage, and execute all aspects of the release management process for Avaloq Core Banking Systems.

Develop and maintain the release calendar for upcoming releases, patches, and system upgrades.

Ensure all releases are thoroughly tested and deployed according to business and technical requirements.

Manage the coordination and integration of release activities with external systems and third-party vendors.

Change & Deployment Coordination:

Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure timely and smooth delivery of Avaloq changes and releases across various environments (development, testing, staging, and production).

Coordinate with stakeholders to schedule releases while minimizing disruption to business operations.

Develop release packages and ensure they meet the business requirements and quality standards before deployment.

Oversee the deployment of Avaloq Core Banking System changes, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless transitions.

Risk Management & Quality Assurance:

Identify, manage, and mitigate risks related to the release process.

Ensure that all pre

and post-release quality checks are completed, and that release notes and documentation are thorough and up-to-date.

Monitor release performance post-deployment and ensure that any issues are quickly identified and addressed.

Develop rollback strategies in the event of a failed release.

Continuous Improvement:

Continuously improve release management processes, tools, and workflows to increase efficiency and reduce risk.

Lead post-release reviews and document lessons learned to drive future release improvements.

Stay current on new Avaloq features, updates, and industry best practices to ensure the release process is optimized.

Stakeholder Communication:

Act as the central point of contact for all release-related activities, ensuring clear and timely communication with stakeholders across the business.

Provide regular updates and status reports on release activities, issues, and progress.

Work with project managers and other stakeholders to align release schedules with project timelines and business needs.

Skills

Must have

Education & Certification:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Avaloq Certification is a must.

Experience:

5+ years of experience working with Avaloq Core Banking System, with at least 2 years in a release management role.

Experience managing complex software releases in the financial services industry.

Strong background in IT change management, configuration management, and deployment best practices.

Technical Skills:

In-depth knowledge of Avaloq Core Banking System, including configuration, development, and parameterization.

Experience with release management tools and CI/CD pipelines.

Strong understanding of change management processes and tools.

Familiarity with database management (SQL/Oracle) and software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Knowledge of scripting languages and automation tools is a plus.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines under pressure.

Nice to have

Proficiency in German

ITIL Certification is a welcome addition
