Job Description

As a Business Program Manager at Microsoft, you'll identify, define, and design opportunities to support and develop new programs or improve existing ones. You'll advocate for program value using clear metrics, gaining buy-in from stakeholders, partners, and customers. Responsibilities include monitoring program alignment with objectives, ensuring efficient process execution, and managing change. You'll contribute to project plans, timelines, financial management, and performance metrics, while communicating program status and holding stakeholders accountable. The role involves cost-benefit analyses, participation in business reviews, and evangelizing programs to stakeholders. You'll define and track success criteria and performance metrics, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design programs from initiation to delivery.

As a Business Program Manager, you will identify, define, and design opportunities to support and/or develop new programs or improve current programs. You will advocate for and demonstrate the value of the program through clearly defined metrics in order to gain buy in from stakeholders, partners and customers. You will monitor programs to ensure all activities align with program objectives and ensures program processes are executed efficiently including change management and/or program improvement efforts.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance or related field OR equivalent experience.

Business Program Management IC2 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $66,900 - $119,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $89,600 - $134,400 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to standard projects including the project plan, timelines, milestones, financial management, performance metrics, and/or resource needs for programs. Communicates the program status to relevant stakeholders and holds them accountable for following the established schedule, risk mitigation plans and processes, with oversight from others.
  • Assists in conducting cost-benefit analyses to examine performance to value drivers (e.g., profit and loss [P&L], return on investment [ROI]). Helps others who drive monthly business review (MBR) and helps run rhythms regularly to identify what is working and what is not.
  • Helps evangelize programs to stakeholders, partners, and customers to gain buy in. Leverages data and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs] and Key Performance Indicators [KPIs]) to demonstrate the value of the program and show business impact, with oversight from others. Demonstrates the skills needed to adapt communication style and storytelling strategy according to audience and business needs.
  • Learns how to define and track the success criteria and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs] and Key Performance Indicators [KPIs]), such as quality, adoption, usage, impact, and effectiveness for the program.
  • Assists others working with cross-functional (e.g., organizational, product, business) stakeholders (e.g., Engineering) to design programs from initiation to delivery.
