Who are we hiring?

 The Senior Accountant will be an integral part of the operational accounting group supporting the day-to-day processes as well as the monthly and quarterly book close. The Senior Accountant provides on-going financial support to the company’s various product groups. Responsibilities also include journal entries, account reconciliations, and support for the Accounting team.

What will you do?

  • Prepare journal entries from a variety of source documentation from operations
  • Provide timely and detailed monthly/quarterly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss account analysis as assigned, including substantiation of account balances. Recommend adjusting journal entries, where needed. Most schedules are used for internal or external reporting, and tax purposes.
  • Issue monthly results reports for various divisions.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of the quarterly balance sheet analyses.
  • Assist with company-wide expense allocations
  • Assist with requests from Tax, External Auditors and Internal Auditors.
  • Assist/recommend/improve company-wide utilization of financial systems to enhance accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
  • Support Operational Accounting group day-to-day activities
  • Complete special projects and respond to ad-hoc requests in an accurate and timely manner, as assigned.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Accounting/Finance, or related discipline)
  • Two+ years of accomplished accounting experience
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Ability to interact with cross functional groups and executive management
  • Strong understanding of monthly closing processes
  • Experience with and strong knowledge of GAAP rules
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, work within a team environment and company culture and willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to evaluate processes and recommend and implement more efficient practices and procedures
  • Big 4 Accounting Experience a plus
  • Excellent quantitative analytical skills
  • Familiarity with oracle and excellent PC, Excel and Word skills
  • Clear writing and communication skills with all levels of management
  • Behavior consistent with MSG values

Pay Range
$75,000$90,000 USD
