Director, Controller

Job Description

• Exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance. 
• Manage the day to day activities of the accounting department and shared services.
• Manage the payroll function including review of periodic and regular payroll reports and payments.
• Hire, train, motivate and retain competent accounting management and staff.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes, communication, and information provided to business leaders.
• Ensure that all accounting transactions are processed timely and accurately.
• Review and analyze multiple entity trial balances and accounts.
• Oversee monthly financial close and reporting process.
• Ensure systems, processes and controls are followed.
• Develop and maintain documented policies and procedures and ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley section 404.
• Manage banking relationships and basic cash management.
• Manage accounting systems initiatives.
• Other projects and duties as assigned. 

• Document and follow relevant internal controls over financial reporting.
• Directly assist team and other departments to document and adhere to relevant internal controls over financial reporting for their respective functions.

• Bachelors in Economics, Accounting or Finance preferred; or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience with a public company as well as experience in a public accounting firm. 
• 7+ years management experience with groups of 10+ people preferred.  
• Must have demonstrated advanced knowledge and ability to work with MS Word and Excel.
• Experience with Microsoft Business Central or comparable ERP system preferred.
• Cost accounting and a background in a manufacturing / assembly environment preferred.
• SEC reporting experience preferred.
• Process improvement experience preferred.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
