Job Summary

Job Description

The Buyer will oversee purchase order placement, receive order confirmations, and schedule deliveries to meet project requirements. They will coordinate inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials, evaluate suppliers, support category management, solicit bids, and optimize supply chain operations. This role requires someone with experience in developing material requirements, global procurement, reducing inventory value, logistics management, negotiating with suppliers, demand forecasting, quality controls, and ERP systems. This position also requires the candidate to have a Master's Degree in Business Management, Industrial & Systems Engineering or a related field. The candidate must have prior experience in the required fields to be considered.
Must have:
  • Develop material requirements and plans.
  • Global procurement sourcing and purchasing.
  • Reduce the value of company owned inventory.
  • Logistics management - best shipping and import/export practices.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on price, production, and terms.
  • Demand forecasting.
  • Quality controls and assurance.
  • Experience with ERP Systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Oversee PO placement, receiving order confirmations from suppliers, and ensuring deliveries are scheduled to meet the project requirements. Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment of raw material components. Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery. Support Category Management in the creation and execution of sourcing strategies. Solicit bid proposals and review requisitions for goods and services. Optimize supply chain operations to increase efficiency.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Job requires a Master’s Degree in Business Management, Industrial & Systems Engineering or related field.
 
Job also requires experience in following:
 
-        Develop material requirements and plans to achieve project timelines;
-        Global procurement sourcing and purchasing;
-        Reduce value of company owned inventory;
-        Logistics management – best shipping and import/export practices;
-        Negotiate with suppliers on price, production, and terms;
-        Demand forecasting;

Experience can be gained through any combination of coursework, work experience, and/or training.
 
20% domestic and international travel required
