Mattel seeks a Communications Training Specialist to collaborate with a global team managing organizational change in quality systems. Responsibilities include developing a communication plan, creating engaging training materials (videos, guides), producing content and voice-overs, partnering with the technical team on user support, maintaining a training calendar, and assisting with user acceptance testing. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing and presentation skills, experience developing training videos, and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365. The role requires strong communication skills, comfort with on-camera work, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. This position supports the digital transformation of Mattel's Quality, Safety, Regulations, and Compliance organization.

The brand is a 360-degree multi-generational franchise, with publishing and consumer products, content, smart connect, educational videos and partnerships with early education and development professionals. Last year, in this category, Mattel sold close to $1B globally and close to $700M in Infant.

The Global Quality Systems Team manages quality systems across Mattel. The team manages organizational change management, training, system administration, system development, and user support. The team works with leaders in the Quality, Safety, Regulations, and Compliance organization to ensure that all quality systems are meeting key objectives. The objectives are to ensure systems are being fully adopted, processes are aligned, and users are supported across Mattel. These objectives help to ensure that Mattel develops, manufactures, and ships quality products that are safe and regulatory compliant. This is a new team being developed as Mattel embarks on a path of digital transformation for the Quality, Safety, Regulations, and Compliance organization.

Job Description

The Opportunity: 
Mattel is currently seeking a Communications Training Associate, hybrid (East Aurora, NY). In this position, you will collaborate with a global team who are responsible for organizational change management of quality systems and associated processes. You will create communications and schedule regular updates for all Global Quality Systems users. You will author training documents and design presentations. You will provide communications research and evaluation of communications effectiveness. This candidate will effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal formats, engage and attract followers online, and build and maintain relationships. This position works closely with the Global Quality Systems Training and Technical teams. This position reports to the Associate Manager of Global Quality Systems.  

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • As part of the Team, you will have a significant impact on the digital transformation for the Quality, Safety, Regulations, and Compliance organization.
  • Develop a structured communication plan for a best-in-class organizational change management operating model.
  • As part of the training team, you will develop effective and engaging training (method, materials, and media)
  • Produce content and voice-over for training videos and user guides.
  • Partner with the technical team on solving user support issues, enhancements, and new projects to ensure successful implementation with end users.
  • Develop and maintain a calendar of reoccurring training, system update announcements, and other communication opportunities to engage and entice users around the globe.
  • Assist the technical team with user acceptance testing.   

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For: 

  • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
  • English language, grammar, and punctuation expert.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation creation skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (in person and virtual) must be comfortable being on camera during virtual meetings.
  • Experience developing training videos/media.
  • Comfortable using your voice in demonstration videos.
  • Act independently with the drive and initiative to move projects to the next level.
  • Establish effective working relationships at all levels.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Learn new tools quickly.
  • Experience training in a corporate/professional environment.
  • Ability to participate in meetings and calls outside of normal working hours (late night or early morning)
  • 3+ years supporting information technology end users.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent.
