The Consolidation and Technical Accounting Specialist will prepare monthly reports under IFRS, create group reports, handle consolidation entries and eliminations. They will prepare position papers on complex accounting matters, guide affiliates during financial closings, and help newly acquired companies adapt to Azerion's policies. Responsibilities include maintaining consolidation software, developing reports and controls, and liaising with external auditors. The role requires close interaction with multiple affiliate companies worldwide, based at the Amsterdam HQ.

To keep up with our rapid growth we are looking for a Consolidation and Technical Accounting Specialist for our Group consolidation team part of the corporate finance team at Azerion headquarters in Amsterdam.

 

Team

This role is within our Group consolidation team, located at our highly internationalized HQ office in Amsterdam.


The consolidation team is responsible for the production of the Group's consolidated accounts by working in a transversal and coordinated manner on all aspects of the closing process. Responsible for the relationship with the auditors and to deliver instructions and timetables to entities ensuring adherence to the Azerion accounting rules (IFRS), the consolidation team have a key role to play in the preparation of the financial information to be shared with internal and external parties.


 

What you will be doing in this role:

  • Preparation of the monthly reporting process under IFRS & issue the Group reports based on the individual monthly reporting packages, consolidation entries & consolidation eliminations together with the team.
  • Prepare position papers and top entries on complex accounting and reporting matters and create instructions for (group-wide) implementation.
  • You will interact and guide affiliates during monthly, half-yearly and yearly closing, support affiliates.
  • Guide newly acquired companies towards the adoption of Azerion financial and IFRS policies. 
  • Maintain / keep up-to-date the consolidation software and develop the necessary reports, controls and formulas.
  • Together with your colleagues, you will be key in the liaison with the external auditor for the consolidated financial statement audit and other audit workstreams.
  • Your primary location is the global HQ in Amsterdam, but you operate in close interaction with multiple affiliate companies across the globe.

 

What you can bring to the table:

  • Minimum 6 years experience in a Consolidation team
  • Solid educational background, preferably a master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or an equivalent field. 
  • Extensive experience with Group consolidation principles in IFRS and preparation for reporting of periodic consolidated financial accounts in accordance with such standards.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and adjust in a highly demanding, dynamic, and fast paced environment.
  • Fluency in English is a must, and proficiency in French or Dutch would be a plus. A good grasp of Excel is important, and knowledge of SAP BFC would be beneficial.
