Sustainability and environmental footprint are already at the top of the leadership agenda for many organizations. The new wave of sustainability reporting requirements is affecting all large companies in the EU and auditors have to step into the sustainability reporting. This requires building of new skills and expertise on a scale we have not seen in years.

Your role:

• Conduct financial and sustainability audits for the largest companies in Bulgaria and Western Europe (remotely), assessing ESG and financial compliance and accuracy;

• Develop yourself on ESG reporting guidelines such as CSRD/ESRS and EU Taxonomy;

• Carry out projects independently and provide written reports on the findings;

• Mapping and keeping track of dependencies, bottlenecks, risks and timely escalation of issues to clients etc;

• Opportunity to advise our non clients on best practices on design of templates, policies, procedures and controls;

• Collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG assurance into financial audits and to provide strategic recommendations;

• Review ESG information at companies, for example KPI’s such as carbon emissions of a client with technical installations or safety incidents in an international environment;

• Keep up with the latest research and developments within sustainable practice.

Requirements:

• Experience in financial auditing - minimum 1 year (audit season);

• Affinity towards sustainability and interest in developing in ESG auditing;

• Proficiency in English and Bulgarian (German will be a plus);

• Strong accounting knowledge ( IFRS, US GAAP or ESG reporting will be a plus);

• Bachelor degree in a relevant field;

• ACCA - progress would be considered an advantage;

• Strong project management and analytical skills;

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
