Job Description

The Content and Communications Manager will lead the creation and sharing of content across Ampere’s digital platforms. They will shape and maintain the brand voice, tell community stories, and ensure engaging digital content. Responsibilities include leading content strategy, producing various content types (blog posts, website copy, press releases), developing a consistent brand voice, overseeing photography and video, implementing SEO best practices, managing an editorial calendar, curating community stories, and implementing a newsletter strategy. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and content audits are also key. This role requires excellent writing, proofreading, editorial skills, SEO understanding, email marketing familiarity, and strong communication skills.
Must have:
  • Experience in Communications, Marketing, or related field.

Job Title: Content and Communications Manager
Reports to: Sr. Director of Marketing
Location: Onsite 4 days a week in Peterborough or Linday. 
Salary: $70,000 yearly 
Term: Full-time, Permanent

Job Summary: 
Ampere is looking for a Content and Communications Manager to lead the creation, and sharing of content across Ampere’s national digital platforms. This role will help shape and maintain our brand voice, tell the stories of our community, and make sure all of our digital content is clear, consistent, and engaging. The Content and Communication Manager will work closely with the Sr. Director of Marketing and other teams to support Ampere’s overall goals and connect with our audiences through high quality content.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the content strategy, creation and management across digital platforms.
  • Write, edit and produce a variety of content, including blog posts, website copy, press releases, and other marketing materials.
  • Develop a consistent voice of tone for Ampere’s content and storytelling.
  • Oversee general photography and video content needs.
  • Implement SEO best practices to analyze performance data to improve content effectiveness.
  • Own and manage a company-wide editorial calendar. 
  • Curate, craft, and tell the stories of Ampere’s community members, partners, and superstars within a consistent, evolving narrative.
  • Working with the Senior Director of marketing, implement a newsletter strategy, overseeing the creation and distribution of targeted newsletters, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align content with overall marketing and business goals.
  • Regularly review and audit content to ensure it remains accurate, relevant, and up-to-date.

Attributes and Qualifications: 
Equal consideration will be given to non-academic skills and experiences of candidates.

  • Education or experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related field. 
  • 3–5 years of experience creating and managing content in a role with similar responsibilities.
  • Strong writing, proofreading and editorial skills.
  • Understanding SEO principles, including the ability to optimize content for search engines.
  • Familiarity with email marketing best practices and platforms. 
  • Excellent communicator who enjoys storytelling. 
  • Organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
