Deals Desk Specialist
Overview of Role:
The Deals Desk Specialist role is a proactive sales enabler role, working closely with Liquid Robotics’ Business Development, Customer Experience, Finance, and Program Management teams. The Deals Desk Specialist supports the analysis, development, costing, and approval of proposals and quotes for existing and prospective customers to ensure the business is able to meet its growth and profitability targets. The successful Deals Desk Specialist will assist BD in structuring deals that map to the capabilities of Liquid Robotics to execute and deliver on its commitments, while maximizing probability of win. The Deals Desk Specialist will be a critical connective tissue for the organization, using business systems (e.g. SFDC, NetSuite) to assist in cross-functional coordination and forecasting efforts, as well as business reporting requirements on top-line sales, revenue, and workload.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enforce company sales policies and procedures and work across departments to design appropriately structured deals (Sales, Finance, Contracts / Legal, Engineering / Product, Mission Services).
- Analyze, evaluate, validate and deploy quote and financial and value proposition offers for the business development team and directly to customers.
- Facilitate the review and validation of the RFP, proposal, or quote process.
- Review of deal documentation or RFPs and SOWs to ensure detailed understanding of bid requirements and deal structures.
- Product support, cost, margin, and quotation for the organization.
- Escalation of non-standard sales transactions for departmental review and approval.
- Drive opportunity management processes to ensure visibility and engagement on deals.
- Identify and remove barriers in deal processes.
- Provide expertise in SFDC to enable: proposal development and production, standardization of documents across the business, smooth integration across LR’s business systems, and regular reporting efforts to improve situational awareness cross-functionally of sales forecasts and associated revenue impacts.
- Working with Capture Team Leads to ensure customer requirements (cost, technical, schedule) and proposal requirements (e.g. format, content) are clearly communicated and understood across teams.
- Working with the Head of Business Development to track overall company workload and spending on capture efforts and campaigns.
Required Attributes/Experience
- A proactive and can-do attitude is required to facilitate cross-functional coordination activities.
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in SFDC, including report building, automation, and baselining.
- Past experience with proposals and technical writing strongly preferred.
- Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, with strong organization skills.
- Expertise with Microsoft Office suite. MS Project experience a plus.
- Ability to self-manage in an environment with rapid and shifting priorities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Demonstrated strong skills in task management, organization, and cross-team coordination.
- Experience using CRM applications required; NetSuite is a plus.
- Minimum 2-4 years of professional experience, with emphasis on sales enablement and team coordination duties.
- Experience presenting to clients in the BD environment and working directly with clients is a plus.
- Ability to summarize and simplify complex deal information and communicate it to the team.
- Excellent communication, writing, editing, and presentation skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships, with executives and senior management.
- U.S. Person status required.
- Ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range: $58,000 - $103,000
