Job Description
The Mechanical Drafter/Designer Checker position at Zeeco is responsible for the checking and quality control of drawings produced by the Thermal Oxidizer Department. This role involves analyzing project mechanical specifications to design appropriate equipment using CAD in both 2D and 3D. The drafter will assist the engineering team with equipment selection and design, perform arithmetic computations using standard formulas, and ensure all required drawings are completed and meet project requirements. Responsibilities also include reviewing customer mark-ups, visiting shops for design changes, and assisting shop personnel with production guidelines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Adobe) and web-based systems is required.
Must have:
- 10+ years drafting/design experience
- AutoCAD experience required
- Associate’s Degree in Drafting or equivalent experience/certification
- Analyze project mechanical specifications
- Utilize CAD systems (2D and 3D)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Adobe)
Good to have:

Job Description:
The Mechanical Drafter/Designer Checker position at Zeeco will be responsible for the checking and quality control of drawings produced by the department. The department works with CAD to design various projects for Zeeco’s Thermal Oxidizer Department.
Job Duties:
· Analyzes project mechanical specifications / requirements to design appropriate equipment for the application.
· Assists engineering team with confirmation of equipment selection and design.
· Utilizes Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD) system or equivalent to complete assignments in both 2D and 3D.
· Makes arithmetic computations using standard formulas.
· Assignments may include information on methods, procedures, sources of information, precedents to follow, and more detailed verbal instructions from project engineer and/or supervisor. Simple revisions to existing drawings may be assigned with a verbal explanation of desired results.
· Assists project engineer in ensuring all required drawings are completed and meets project requirements. Assists with reviewing customer mark-up prints and disposition of comments.
· Shop visits and travel to assist with design changes as required per the project and to assist shop personnel with guidelines for production of equipment.
· Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Word / Excel / Adobe and all Web based systems for design completion.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Associate’s Degree in Drafting or equivalent combination of experience and certification.
· 10+ years drafting/design experience
· AutoCAD experience required
