As a freelance Social Media Manager, you will take ownership of developing and implementing impactful social media strategies that enhance Team Liquid’s presence within the Dota 2 community. Partnering with Team Liquid’s global team, you will manage the creation, scheduling, and evaluation of content across multiple platforms, building meaningful relationships with fans and the broader esports scene. This role provides the opportunity to craft compelling narratives through creative storytelling, engaging campaigns, and event coverage, all while enjoying the flexibility that freelance work offers.
Location: Open to freelancers based in any EU country, provided you have the ability to travel internationally to fulfill project responsibilities.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Social Media Coverage:
- Oversee the preparation, scheduling, posting, and performance evaluation of content for Team Liquid's Dota 2 social accounts (X, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Discord, etc.).
- Design and implement short- and long-term content strategies aligned with team events, player activities, and marketing promotions.
- Gather and review performance metrics to refine content strategies and drive engagement.
- Contribute to brainstorming sessions to generate impactful ideas for Team Liquid and its partners.
- Produce and edit social media content, including short-form videos and photos.
- Deliver real-time content coverage during tournaments and events.
- Work with filmmakers during shoots or provide detailed lists of required deliverables for approval.

Engagement and Community Building:
- Implement strategies to engage with fans and cultivate strong community relationships.
- Propose deliverables tailored to different platforms based on the scope of production.
- Work with production teams to ensure seamless content execution and market-specific enhancements.

Narrative and Campaign Building:
- Create narrative-focused content around player signings, departures, and game-related events.
- Assist in the development of promotional and content marketing strategies.
- Ensure all social media posts align with Team Liquid’s overarching narrative and brand identity.

Content Development & Strategy:
- Contribute to the planning and development of content for different social channels.
What You’ll Need:
- 3+ years of experience in social media management and community engagement (X, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Discord, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of digital and social media platform trends.
- Interest in esports and the gaming industry.
- Expertise in Dota 2, its community, and its professional scene.
- Experience in live social coverage of tournaments and events.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to travel internationally.
- Proficiency in videography and video editing (camera or phone).
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and CapCut.
- Fluency in English (B2 level or above).
You’ll Earn Bonus Points If You Have:

Flexibility and Schedule Management: While you will manage your own schedule independently, the nature of our projects may occasionally require flexibility. The successful candidate should be prepared to be available outside typical hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed, to meet project demands.

Freelancer Status: You must be a registered freelancer with a valid tax ID number and be able to provide proof of your freelance status if requested.

Contract Structure: This is a project-based freelance contract. You will invoice Team Liquid for services rendered.

Location and Travel: This role is open to freelancers based in the EU. International travel is required to support key projects, such as live event coverage and tournaments.
