As a Global Benefits Account Manager, you will manage project deliverables for clients, track and report project status, understand client's benefits philosophy, and communicate with partners. You will lead client meetings, assist global clients with their employee benefit programs, and ensure technical accuracy in all deliverables. This role involves providing accurate data and analysis while managing client risks and issues. You will also be responsible for ensuring all standard procedures and controls are being followed. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop a strong understanding of global health and welfare benefit products and services.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience OR 3+ years of equivalent education/work experience
  • Proficient technical knowledge of insured benefits and insurance markets and/or administration technology
  • Strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; strong project management skills
  • Experience in client facing role; strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of MS Office

Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Global Benefits Management Coordination team at Mercer. This role will be based in Chicago, and it is a hybrid role with a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Global Benefits Account Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting medium to large clients by providing accurate data and analysis while managing client risks and issues. You will lead client meetings, assist global clients with their employee benefit programs, and ensure technical accuracy in all deliverables. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop a strong understanding of global health and welfare benefit products and services. We will count on you to:

  • Manage and execute project deliverables for clients’ implementation, ongoing, and renewals
  • Track and report project status to brokers/clients and internal management teams, including the nature of local discussions impacting the insurance placement or plan design strategy
  • Understand the client’s benefits philosophy
  • Process execution and ensuring all standard procedures and controls are being followed.
  • Communicate with internal and external partners (consultants, brokers and clients)

What you need to have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of relevant experience
    • OR 3+ years of equivalent education/work experience
  • Proficient technical knowledge of insured benefits and insurance markets and/or administration technology
  • Voluntary and active participation in various projects outside of specific responsibilities to support business or organizational needs
  • Strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; strong project management skills
  • Experience in client facing role; strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of MS Office
  • Flexibility required to meet with global colleagues outside of regular work hours when needed (this is not an everyday occurrence)
