Job Description

Tesla seeks a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer for its Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg. Responsibilities include designing, installing, and commissioning stamping press lines (tandem and transfer) and automation systems. The role involves supporting equipment design RFQs, directing suppliers, ensuring quality and delivery, approving designs, and adhering to manufacturing standards. The engineer will lead equipment standard documentation, develop program plans, conduct equipment trials, and provide direction to the launch support team. Maintaining detailed 'as-built' records and guiding engineering techs/interns are also key responsibilities. Experience in stamping manufacturing, fluency in English, knowledge of electrical/mechanical designs, and proficiency in design software (Solidworks, Catia, AutoCAD) are essential.

Must have:

Stamping manufacturing experience
Fluent in English
Electrical/mechanical design knowledge
Solidworks, Catia, AutoCAD proficiency
Project management skills
Equipment safety buyoff knowledge

Good to have:

Experience with stamping press line foundations and utilities

Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Stamping Equipment Manufacturing Engineer, who will be responsible for design and development of new press lines or modifications to existing press lines for the Gigafactory in Berlin.

What You’ll Do

Reports directly to the Manager Manufacturing Engineering
Responsible for design, installation and commissioning activities for stamping press lines (both tandem and transfer lines) and automation systems
Supports equipment design RFQ’s
Provides direction and receives feedback from suppliers ensuring equipment quality & delivery commitments are met
Approves supplier designs
Ensures that suppliers adhere to equipment manufacturing standards
Participates and leads the equipment standard documentation development
Prepares a detailed program plan that meets timing goals and visits suppliers on a regular basis to ensure compliance to timing dates
Schedules and facilitates equipment trials at suppliers and at TMF
Provides direction and leadership to Launch Support Team
Provides a detailed documentation record of “as built” conditions
Provides direction to Engineering Techs and Engineering Interns as necessary
Provides a detailed list of high priority spare parts
Update Equipment Tracking System

What You’ll Bring

Stamping manufacturing experience / knowledge
Must be fluent in the English language
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical designs
Experience with stamping press line foundations and utilities is a plus
Good project management skillsets to manage vendors
Equipment safety buyoff and machine directive knowledge
Excellent skills in design and software (Solidworks, Catia, Autocad)
Travel is included, including some internationally may be required from time to time.
Innovative, Business-minded, Capable of working well within a team, Organized and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadline
