Role Description: We are seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer to join our team, supporting the Government & Public Sector in the SoMD region. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in data security analysis, risk management, and network security solutions. This hybrid role requires candidates to reside within a commutable distance of Pikesville, MD, as some on-site work is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vulnerability Management:
    • Perform system risk evaluations for workstations, servers, and network devices.
    • Address missing patches, configuration errors, and system flaws.
    • Prioritize and implement vulnerability fixes and mitigation strategies.
  • Network Security Audits:
    • Conduct assessments to identify risks, compliance deficiencies, and vulnerabilities.
    • Recommend and implement security solutions.
  • System Design and Support:
    • Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions and architectures.
    • Configure, install, and upgrade network security devices (routers, switches, VPNs, firewalls, proxies).
  • Web Application Security:
    • Perform web application vulnerability assessments and map data flow.
  • Policy and Documentation:
    • Develop, review, and update network security policies and procedures.
    • Conduct annual network-wide audits and provide regular risk assessment updates.
  • Industry Knowledge:
    • Stay informed on the latest network security trends and technologies.

Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field OR
  • 4 years of equivalent experience in a related field.
Certifications (Required – one or more):
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
  • GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials Certification)
  • CCNA or CCNP
Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of IT experience in data security analysis and risk management within the last 10 years.

Additional Information

  • Some travel to other offices may be required.
  • Telework may be permitted at the supervisor's discretion.
  • Candidates requiring relocation will not be considered.

 

You’ll have (Qualification & Experience):

  •  Bachelor's Degree in related field is required.
