Summary

As a PDK Software Engineer at Intel, you'll lead the creation, implementation, and optimization of software tools supporting various domains within VLSI physical verification. This includes utilizing modern software development methodologies and programming languages to design, develop, debug, and validate algorithms, software tools, and systems. You will work with internal and external engineering partners on the design and manufacturing of Intel silicon. Tools may include debuggers, analyzers, SDKs, IDEs, PDKs, and performance monitors. This entry-level position requires strong communication, analytical problem-solving, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, adaptable environment. Experience managing servers in large-scale distributed environments is crucial.
Must have:
  • BS/MS in CS/CE/EE or related
  • Semiconductor industry experience
  • Unix/Linux OS experience
  • C++, Python, Perl, or TCL skills
  • VLSI design process knowledge
Good to have:
  • DRC/LVS runset development (Synopsys ICV, Siemens Calibre, Cadence Pegasus)
  • Reliability verification, ESD concepts, standard cell library, or memory architecture knowledge

As an PDK Software Engineer, you will lead the creation, implementation, and optimization of software tools in support of various domains including design, manufacturing, validation, silicon production, systems integration, software application products, or ecosystem enabling.

You will utilize modern software development methodologies, programming languages, domain knowledge, and secure coding practices to design, develop, debug, and/or validate algorithms, software tools, and systems that enable our internal/external engineering partners to design/manufacture intel silicon, integrate Intel silicon and/or software into impactful products.

Examples of tools/systems include:

Debuggers, analyzers, SDKs, IDEs, PDKs, performance monitors, software tools and libraries, flows, and/or methodologies for design, manufacturing, validation, and test.

This is an entry level position and compensation will be given accordingly. #DesignEnablement

In addition, candidate should have effective verbal or written communication and analytical problem solving and troubleshooting skills. The person should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and flexibility is key to their success. Having depth and breadth of knowledge of managing servers in a large-scale distributed environment is a core competency of this individual.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.What we need to see (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Candidate must possess a BS degree with 2+ years of experience or an MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3+ months of semiconductor industry experience.
  • 3+ months experience with Unix/Linux operating system.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of semiconductor industry experience in all the following areas: Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating system.
  • Software programming skills in C++, Python, Perl or, TCL.
  • At least one of the following: VLSI design process, reliability verification, ESD concepts, standard cell library or memory architectures.
  • At least 2 years of experience in: DRC/LVS runset development in any of the following EDA tools
  • Synopsys ICV
  • Siemens Calibre
  • Cadence Pegasus

Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
