As a Platform Engineer (Unity), your primary responsibility will be supporting and enhancing our build pipelines and development tools. You will focus on stability and maintainability of our core game platform used for Hello Kitty Island Adventure and future games.
An ideal candidate has experience working with a variety of build systems and cloud pipelines used while developing games in Unity across multiple platforms.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Build & Tools Engineer to support our engineering, QA, and design teams by improving our build systems, streamlining our development pipeline, and creating tools that empower our content creators and developers. This role requires a strong mix of build system management, Unity development, and backend experience to ensure smooth and efficient workflows across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Build System Management – Oversee and optimize our Unity build pipeline in TeamCity to support multiple platforms.
• Unity Development & Tools – Develop and maintain tools within Unity to improve workflows for engineers, QA, and content creators.
• Backend Development – Work with databases and backend technologies, supporting features and infrastructure with at least one backend programming language.
• Cross-team Collaboration – Work closely with engineering, QA, and design teams to identify bottlenecks and develop solutions that improve efficiency and productivity.
What We’re Looking For
• Experience with build systems and CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).
• Proficiency in Unity development, with experience building internal tools and automating processes.
• Backend development experience – comfortable with databases and at least one backend language (e.g., Python, C#, Go, Node.js).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for optimizing workflows.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with different teams to support their technical needs.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) for build and deployment automation.
Nice to Have
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation tasks.
• Knowledge of profiling, debugging, and performance optimization in Unity.
