Job Description

As a Principal Architect, you will lead cross-functional teams to help customers design, plan, implement, and govern enterprise cloud strategies. You will lead conversations and direct the Sales team, combining technical direction and business insight. You'll partner with Value Engineering to articulate the value of each technical solution and the overall business partnership with Google Cloud. Responsibilities include building trusted advisory relationships with accounts, engaging with technical and executive leadership, providing domain expertise in public cloud and enterprise technology, making recommendations on integration strategies and architectures, and managing the enterprise architecture relationship with customers. This role requires significant travel (up to 50%).
Must have:
  • 10+ years enterprise architecture experience
  • Cloud computing expertise (applications, infrastructure, data)
  • Stakeholder engagement and presentation skills
  • Lead cross-functional teams
  • Deliver business value and resolve blockers
Good to have:
  • Experience with hybrid cloud, on-premise to cloud migrations
  • Enterprise technology buying process understanding
  • Scale computing solutions experience
  • Hi-Tech and Manufacturing industry experience
  • Ability to drive and influence audiences

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience as an enterprise architect or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience in cloud market insights and cloud computing across applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, or data.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with structured enterprise architecture practices, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise-to-cloud migration deployments and roadmaps.
  • Experience in enterprise technology buying and evaluation process paired with a understanding of scale computing solutions and experience in building, architecting, designing and implementing distributed global cloud-based systems.
  • Experience in, or supporting the Hi-Tech and Manufacturing industries.
  • Ability to deliver results and work cross-functionally to position and orchestrate a solution consisting of multiple products.
  • Ability to drive and influence audiences and identify expansion engagements within accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Build a trusted advisory relationship with accounts and engage with Architects, vice president Engineering, CTO and CIO, and identify customer priorities, technical objections and design strategies encompassing the entire Google ecosystem to deliver business value and resolve blockers.
  • Provide domain expertise around public cloud and enterprise technology, and effectively promote Google Cloud with customers, at conferences, and online.
  • Make recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution while providing practices to customers to optimize Google Cloud effectiveness.
  • Manage the enterprise architecture relationship with customers by collaborating with specialists, product management, technical teams, and more.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events, up to 50% of the time or as required.
