Insomniac Games seeks a contract Project Manager to drive production structure, process, and efficiency in game development. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining content schedules, tracking milestones, anticipating and solving problems, ensuring proper bug tracking, maintaining awareness of game content status, anticipating and resolving scheduling issues, communicating project updates, and assisting senior project managers. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, be proficient in project management methodologies, and possess experience with bug tracking databases and version control software. The role demands collaboration with various teams and adherence to Insomniac's cultural values.

CONTRACT ROLE

Insomniac is looking for a Project Manager. In this role you will be responsible for anticipating production challenges and proactively drives solutions that enable teams to realize ideas without compromising quality or well-being. The project manager regularly anticipates, forms a plan of action, and achieves buy-in with teammates. A project manager's primary focus is to provide effective planning and structure - create, modify, and maintain assigned content schedules as a member of team leadership. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Drives production structure, process, and efficiency in overall game development.
  • Anticipates and proactively solves problems both independently and collaboratively.
  • Creates, modifies, and maintains schedules for assigned content or teams in partnership with assigned Leads. This includes:
    • Establishes and tracks status of milestone goals.
    • Develops strategy with assigned Leads to ensure all deadlines are met in relation to project objectives and scope.
  • Ensures proper logging and tracking of assigned content in bug tracking database.
  • Maintains a constant awareness of game content status and quality levels through regular play sessions.
  • Anticipates scheduling overruns through effective analysis and presentation of measurable data. Initiates action to resolve scheduling issues and collaborates on workable solutions.
  • Proactively ensures project updates and changes are communicated to the development team.
  • Unblocks team members from dependencies of scheduled tasks and facilitates communication between team members.
  • Assists Senior Project Managers and Project Director in the creation of milestone deliverable documentation, collaborating with craft Leads to coordinate goals across diverse disciplines.
  • Contributes to the implementation of new or refined production methods.
  • Develops collaborative relationships across all peers and departments.
  • Regularly achieves and demonstrates Insomniac’s cultural leadership values.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Computer Skills:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of bug tracking database(s) is required- DevTrack, TFS, Jira or other industry standard.
  • Working knowledge of version control software.
  • Perforce is preferred.

Please note that the individual base pay range may vary based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below, this is an hourly rate.

$53.71 - $80.53 USD
