Responsibilties

    • Test native mobile applications that make heavy use of networking code, both manually and via automation. This role is a hybrid between a traditional software QA role (i.e., manual testing) and an automation engineer with an initial, strong focus on the manual sideUnderstand the requirements, design and build manual and automated test scenarios to thoroughly test mobile apps’ features and logicAdopt various testing methodologies like exploratory, regression, acceptance, validation, boundary and sanity testing to ensure features are usable, reliable and work as designed and specifiedResponsible for testing all functionalities and features of our mobile applications on mobile devices, ensuring the applications meet the required standards and requirements. Able to load application software to iOS and Android devices, test and extract data from those for debugging and defect reporting purposesPerformance/Load testing: Work with development teams for benchmarking of product before releasing. Conduct suitable experiments for performance testing & running performance testsWork closely with mobile developers to recognize and report all discovered problems, bottlenecks, deadlock, non-responsive states and any other issue that compromises the quality of the product. Be prompt in defect reporting, work with developers and tech leads, followupBe actively involved in all phases of testing life cycles such as Functional, Regression, End2End, Alpha & Post-Release Testing, write and execute test plans and test casesBe creative in designing and executing manual tests for edge or rare cases. “Think like a user”, try to replicate real users’ actions, thinking and behaviors with respect to the productBe actively involved in Agile development model, working with developers in sprints, in-sprint testing and defect reporting, participate in Agile ceremoniesFollow and implement QA processes, directions and best practices, as instructed, as part of providing qualit

    • Should be an enthusiastic, detail oriented, organized team player who is now starting their professional career or has some small experience and is willing and eager to learn. Must be a quick learner. Any prior test automation background is a plusShould be a person familiar with the concept of manually testing a mobile application, from the creation of a test plan and test cases to executing them and recording the outputProven experience with testing mobile native applications as well as with IDEs, testing and profiling toolsKnowledge/exposure to Python as a programming language. Any further experience with Python for automation tool is a plusUnderstanding of the HTTP/S communication protocolAny experience with programming languages such as Java and or Swift is a plus, as well as any experience with Android Studio and/or XcodeAny exposure to testing tools such as Appium, ADB, Postman Rest API, Charles Proxy is a plusUnderstanding of JSON formats and parsers is a plusAny experience with Instrumentation and Profiling tools is a plusWorking knowledge of native apps support, properties, behavior and life cycle in the iOS and Android OS phones and environmentsAbility to work as part of a team and interact effectively with othersFlexible to attempt alternate solutions to resolve issues and adjust to a dynamic, changing technical and business environmentShould have the ability to work independently. Direction and support will be provided by the manager or technical lead, but the candidate is expected to be a proactive member and put forth his/her own ideas
