Role Overview

Keywords Studios is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accounts Payable Accountant to join our dynamic Shared Service team based in Milan- Italy. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of vendor invoices, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and contributing to the overall financial health of the company. The ideal candidate will possess 7-10 years of progressive accounts payable experience, preferably within an American or Canadian company environment, and experience in team leading.   

The Key responsibilities for this role will be:  

Full-Cycle Accounts Payable Processing:  

• Oversight the processing of a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, including matching purchase orders, receiving reports, and obtaining necessary approvals. 

• Manage and resolve discrepancies between invoices, purchase orders, and receiving reports. 

Vendor Management:  

• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and company internal stakeholders, responding to inquiries and resolving payment issues promptly. 

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies. 

Month-End and Year-End Close:  

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparing accruals and reconciliations. 

• Prepare and analyze accounts payable aging reports. 

• Assist with internal and external audits. 

Compliance and Reporting:  

• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant accounting standards IFRS  

• Prepare 1099/T4A forms and other required tax filing. 

• Generate and analyze various accounts payable reports. 

Process Improvement:  

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. 

• Assist in the development and implementation of accounts payable policies and procedures. 

• Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in accounts payable. 

System Proficiency:  

• Utilize and maintain proficiency in relevant accounting software and ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite, Kanbina AI). 

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. 

Team Collaboration:  

• Collaborate with other members of the finance team and other departments to ensure smooth operations. 

• Coordinate, mentor and provide training to junior accounts payable staff, as needed. 

Technical Skills 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field  

• 7 to 10 years of experience in accounts payable  

• Good understanding of US GAAP or Canadian GAAP. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Proficiency in relevant accounting software and ERP systems. 
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. 
• Experience with 1099/T4A reporting. 
• Experience in dealing with multi currency transactions is a plus.
