What does the job look like?
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Data Engineer to join our organization and lead us into the next era of data engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing our new reporting and analytics platform, which is based on the cutting-edge Mediallion architecture. Working closely with our team of architects, you will contribute to the development of mature CI/CD processes and ensure that the platform is built and managed in an Agile manner.
The platform itself is built on Azure components, with a Databricks layer on top that utilizes Delta Live Tables. Our team of BI experts leverages PowerBI for data visualization. Together with these experts, you will be at the forefront of facilitating our business with state-of-the-art data products, ensuring that we are AI-ready and able to make data-driven decisions that help our organization solve important problems.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Azure components, including Key Vault, Gen2 Storage, and Azure AD
Perform data processing and cleaning using Python in Notebooks
Conduct data modeling using SQL in Notebooks
Develop and manage data flows built in DLT (Delta Live Tables)
Schedule jobs using DB Workflow
Implement functionalities in a CI/CD and Agile manner
Develop and manage ingest functionalities
Integrate with PowerBI and Delta Sharing
Design technical implementations based on business requirements

In doing so, you combine sharp insight with technical knowledge, good communication skills, and a bit of courage. You are proactive and ask the right questions. To make this position a success, you also have:
At least a bachelor's/master's degree;
At least three years of recent experience as a DWH Engineer, Data Warehouse developer, or similar, having worked with the Azure Data Lake;
At least 3 years of experience in a scrum/agile environment;
At least 3 years of recent experience with Databricks;
At least 3 years of experience with Azure DevOps (git);
Knowledge of and experience with CI/CD pipelines;
At least 3 years of recent experience with Medallion Architecture;
At least 3 years of recent experience with Python;
At least 5 years of recent experience with (T-)SQL;
Knowledge of data models (3rd Normal, Snowflake, Dimensional).
