About the job:
As a Senior Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You will be a part of the K&I Data Science team driving product excellence and user growth through scalable generation and delivery of data insights. In this role, you will be responsible for developing strategies, defining and driving ambiguous programs and processes that address challenges with business impact on PA-level objective key results. You will also identify and eliminate bottlenecks within existing programs, prioritizing efficiency gains and minimizing disruptions for DS and product teams. You will need to collaborate with engineering counterparts to develop and maintain tools, dashboards, and automation that reduces manual effort for product teams. You will be required to ensure consistent communication of processes, distilling complex ideas and insights into concise, impactful communications tailored for diverse audiences. Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders to foster collaboration, consensus, and alignment.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience working with statistics, data modeling, data analytics and data architecture
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience in large scale program management, change management, and communication strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams in a fast paced environment
  • Attention to detail, time management, and ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in activities related to program or project management
  • Experience working with statistics, data modeling, data analytics and data architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders, including data science and engineering leads.
  • Experience in areas like large scale program management, change management, and communication strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams in a fast paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, time management, and ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted thought partner to the Data Science team, developing strategies, defining and driving ambiguous programs and processes that address challenges with business impact on PA-level objective key results.
  • Seek out and identify change management opportunities that increase program velocity.  Focus on the improvement of end-to-end processes by collaborating with cross-functional leaders to identify and address issues.
  • Identify and eliminate bottlenecks within existing programs, prioritizing efficiency gains and minimizing disruptions for DS and product teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering counterparts to develop and maintain tools, dashboards, and automation that reduces manual effort for product teams.
