The Senior Software Engineer at Disney Experiences (DX) will be responsible for creating and supporting the Disney Cruise Line web day planning and trip planning experience site. This role involves leading small projects, encompassing analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of software enhancements and new products. Responsibilities include testing and debugging applications, coding for commercial and end-user applications, working at the component level with large software programs, interacting with users to define system requirements, and designing and developing highly scalable software systems. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Angular or React/Vue, Tailwinds or similar, Restify or NestJS or similar, and a proactive approach to continuous learning and skill development.

We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including MyDisneyExperience and Hey, Disney!

This role sits in the Disney Cruise Line organization within Technology & Digital for Disney Experiences. It works closely with our Cruise Line and various from across the company. 

The Senior Software Engineer will report to the Manager of Technology.

About The Role & Team:

  • This team creates and supports the Disney Cruise Line web day planning and trip planning experience site and engages closely with our line of business.

What You’ll Do:

  • May lead small projects encompassing analysis, design, programming, debugging, and modification of software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, cloud-based, or Internet-related computer programs
  • Responsible for performing testing and debugging of applications
  • Code may be used in commercial and end-user applications or focus on software and tools supporting infrastructure and technology platforms
  • Code at the component level
  • Work typically involves large or highly sophisticated software programs and systems
  • Possess a proven understanding of current programming language and technologies, with strong skills in writing code and completing programming tasks
  • Interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications
  • Conceive, design, develop, test, and implement software components, fixes, improvements, and/or new systems and applications
  • Design and develop highly scalable software systems and applications
  • You will be expected to stay up to date with emerging technologies

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment
  • Proficiency in Angular or React/Vue, Tailwinds or similar, Restify or NestJS or similar, with a proactive demeanor towards continuous learning and skill development, and an interest in mastering emerging data engineering tools and methodologies

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's or foreign equivalent Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
