Job Description
As a Senior Software Engineer II on the Wordscapes Search team, you'll collaborate across disciplines (design, art, QA, production, product) to develop complex game features. Responsibilities include architecting, implementing, and owning feature development, focusing on projects like tournament leagues and quest systems. You'll write clean, efficient code using SOLID principles, understand client/server architecture, and create clear documentation. Strong communication and teamwork are essential. This role requires 5+ years of experience in mobile game development with a proven track record of delivering high-quality products using Unity. Job Summary
As a Sr Engineer II on Wordscapes Search, you will work closely across all disciplines, design, art, qa, production, and product, to implement new complex game features that give joy and excitement to our users. You will demonstrate ownership and be proactive in driving towards delivery, filling in any gaps as needed. You will have a solid foundation for coding and Unity best practices and leverage that experience to improve execution velocity. Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, own, and drive complex game feature development working cross functionally like tournament leagues and a quest system
- Write clean and efficient code leveraging SOLID principles
- Have a solid understanding of client/server architecture and communication
- Write clear technical and process documentation
- Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, designers, artists, producers, product managers, and QA supporting each group when needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in the mobile gaming industry, with a proven track record of delivering quality products on time.
- Extensive experience working in the Unity game engine, understanding best practices and how to leverage it to quickly execute.
- Strong technical skills in object-oriented programming, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.

- Experience working on cross-functional teams with the ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written communications.
PeopleFun provides a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this [CA based or North America based] position is $122,000-$175,000. Base compensation at PeopleFun is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and other benefits.
