Summary

The Software Engineer II at Warner Bros. Discovery will contribute to the Boundary Services team, responsible for building and maintaining the Gateway, Service Mesh, and microservices. Key responsibilities include solving problems related to API gateway concerns, cross-cluster service meshes, authentication/authorization, and managing large-scale Istio deployments. The role requires designing processes/workflows, collaborating effectively, and using modern software development practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, proactively seek feedback, and contribute to best practices and documentation. Experience with Java, Spring/Spring Boot, and cloud technologies is essential.

Meet Our Team: 

DTC’s many software engineering teams build applications for the web, mobile, tablets, connected TVs, consoles, and other streaming devices. The Boundary Services team is responsible for building and maintaining the Gateway, Service Mesh and a few microservices that provide common functionality to the client and backend services. We are a fast-growing, global engineering group crucial to WBD’s future. We are hiring a software engineer who will solve problems related to API gateway concerns, cross-cluster service meshes, authentication/authorization, and the management of large-scale Istio deployments across many AWS accounts. The engineer will design processes/workflows, with the help of a collaborative team environment using modern, rigorous software development practices that emphasize testability, repeatability, and self-service automation. 

Roles & Responsibilities: 

· You can describe your design, code, and architectural decisions to your team 

· You actively seek input where appropriate and engage your team to inform and share what you are doing. 

· You embrace constructive feedback and adapt to align with organizational standards and objectives. 

· You offer enhancements to best practices, document, design, and architecture improvements, and add feedback through code reviews to other engineers without continuous prompting or recurring encouragement. 

What to Bring: 

● 3+ years' experience with technologies on our stack including Java, Spring/Spring Boot 

● 1+ years' experience with Cloud Technology or strong familiarity and demonstrated ability to become expert 

● Ability to drive best practices and set standards for your team.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $99,400.00 - $184,600.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
