Job Description
The candidate will assist a national security U.S. government agency by providing high-level technical expertise. This involves developing new methods for extracting data/information from agency nuclear testing operations and translating nuclear effects information for Interagency stakeholders. The role requires understanding complex legacy systems, weapon effects, phenomenology, and verification/validation tools to support multiple technical portfolios. The candidate will provide technical guidance, oversight, and recommendations for solutions related to analysis, operations, and data manipulation, as well as support data collection transformation and analytical studies. They will also research and evaluate high-performance computing tools, programs, and algorithms and provide technical reports and white papers.
Must have:
- Support agency nuclear security priorities with external partners
- Provide technical guidance for support requests (RFS)
- Provide technical oversight for internal/external missions

- Analyze and recommend current/future mission needs
- Optimize management of physical-to-digital data conversion

POSITION SUMMARY
The candidate will assist a national security U.S. government agency by providing high-level technical expertise by, developing new methods for extracting data/information agency nuclear testing operations and translation of nuclear effects information for Interagency stakeholders. The agency core mission integrates large numbers of historical data sets related to the US nuclear mission with advanced digitization and data manipulation techniques for additional use of such information. The ability to understand complex legacy systems, weapon effects, phenomenology, verification and validation tools, and niche mission needs ensures this role can properly support multiple portfolios of technical contribution.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
- Support general agency nuclear security mission priorities with external partners
- Provide technical guidance to requests for support (RFS) and information retrieval related to nuclear weapon systems, testing, and simulation cases
- Provide technical oversight for critical internal and external missions with performing contractors
- Provide recommendations for technical solutions related to analysis, operations, and data manipulation
- Support the transformation of data collection to a modern framework with a diverse team of technical disciplines
- Analyze and recommend current and future mission needs to government and military management at various levels
- Aiding in optimizing the management of physical-to-digital data conversion for various mission needs
- Execute analytical studies
- Research and evaluate high performance computing tools, programs, and algorithms for future scientific technical data curation.
- Write and provide technical reports and white papers describing state-of-the-art technology and methodology research, evaluation, and recommendations.
