About the job:
As a Strategy and Operations Lead for gTech Ads Analytics, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the day-to-day operations of Google's Ads business. You will leverage data and insights to inform strategic decisions, build solutions to improve operational efficiency, and collaborate with tech partners to enhance infrastructure. This role involves conducting in-depth performance analyses, identifying growth drivers, setting targets, and managing data analytics and reporting for the overall business operations. Your responsibilities will include partnering closely with Google Ads operations to understand business needs, translating them into data-driven insights, and developing solutions that empower leaders to make informed decisions. You will also work with technical teams to inform infrastructure improvements and contribute to key analytics projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, experience in management consulting or a similar strategy function, and a proven ability to work effectively with stakeholders and manage complex projects.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in management consulting, sales operations, business strategy, investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or corporate advisory.
  • Experience with senior stakeholder management and executive conversations, written and verbal, both internal and external.
  • Experience with SQL and dashboarding.
  • Proven track record with excellent project management, problem-solving/analysis, written/verbal communication, and people skills.
Good to have:
  • MBA.
  • Experience in management consulting firm or equivalent project management experience in a strategy function for software, Internet, media industries or early stage companies.
  • Domain expertise in Service Operations, Customer Support Operations, and Internet/Online Media.

We help our customers get the most out of our Ad and Publisher products and guide them when they need help. We provide a range of services from enabling better self help and in-product support, to providing better support through interactions, setting up accounts and implementing ad campaigns, and providing media solutions for customers business and marketing needs and providing complex technical and measurement solutions along with consultative support for our large customers. These solutions range from bespoke and customized ones for our customers to scalable support for millions of customers worldwide. Based on the evolving needs of our ads customers, we partner with Sales, Product and Engineering teams within Google to develop better solutions, tools, and services to improve our products and enhance our client experience. As a cross-functional and global team, we ensure our customers get the best return on investment with Google and we remain a trusted partner.

Primary focus is to enable Google operations to optimize BAU performance through strategic insights and performance management.

The Go-to-Market Operations (GtM) team ensures Google's complex and ever-evolving Ads business runs smoothly. We are instrumental in setting go-to-market strategy, and ensuring flawless execution and operations against the strategy. We have teams embedded in each of the major Ads business areas as well as global teams that work across the business areas. Team members are analytical and strategic, with a pragmatic sense of how to get things done.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Google Ads operations to understand business needs around running day to day operations. Convert these needs into customer data / insights and build on-point solutions that helps leaders make informed decisions.
  • Partner closely with tech partners to inform scaled tech infrastructure improvements and collaborate on key analytics projects.
  • Support business performance deep dives. Clearly identify drivers for growth and efficiency, to help inform relative prioritization of specific execution levers.
  • Conduct repeatable and ad-hoc analyses to measure and interpret business trends.
  • Set targets for different operating teams, manage the data analytics and reporting of the overall business operations performance.
