Strategy Principal, Personal Systems

This will also mean that we need to fine-tune our long-term vision, medium-term strategy,  and short-term plans. We need to evolve how we engage with our customers. This role is integral to that work. You will work directly with a Senior Director, Personal Systems Strategy to define our gameplan that will impact our product/portfolio roadmap, GTM motions, competitive responses etc. You will inform the strategic choices by conducting in-depth analyses, synthesizing the analytical results, testing hypotheses, and forming the recommendations. The role will need collaboration with cross-functional leaders to refine and align strategy with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze market research on latest industry trends, competitive landscape and product innovations

  • Develop recommendations on go-forward 1-5 year strategy on where to play and how to win

  • Recommend some short-term plans and levers to optimize business and financial performance. Structure analytical approaches and develops project strategies and tactics. Facilitate regular follow-ups on strategic planning to foster collaboration and ensure accountability.

  • Consult with business executives on a wide range of issues related to the strategy formulation process, including risk management and new growth opportunities.

  • Collaborate across businesses, functions, and regions to align strategy and direction with corporate and division/ business unit.

  • Leverage strategic and management consulting frameworks to implement a comprehensive portfolio approach for evaluating and managing the organization's diverse business units, platforms, and products.

  • Provide thought leadership and contributes to expanding the knowledge base within area of expertise which includes developing new methods, techniques and criteria for developing strategy analysis and recommendations.


Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

  • Has at least 8-10+ years of work experience, preferably 3-4+ in management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic planning, or a related field

  • Top-tier consulting experience highly desirable

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent analytical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills.

  •  Ability to summarize abstract ideas clearly and independently manage project objectives.

  •  Extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Access, statistical analysis, and financial modeling.

  •  Developed business acumen and technical knowledge within at least two business units.

  •  Very strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence.

  • Excellent project management skills, including project structuring.

  • Strong relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.

  • Ability to learn and draw on new analytical techniques to develop creative approaches to project objectives.

  • Structures ambiguous problems and takes action to solve them independently while managing project objectives.

  • Oversees significant research and analysis efforts. Identifies leading-edge analytical tools and techniques to evaluate strategic objectives and gain new insights to business issues.

  • Able to conduct an impact analysis capturing all the likely consequences of a decision.

The typical base pay range for this role in Houston is USD $136,850 - $210,750 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations within the Palo Alto area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $149,900 - $230,850 per year.
