Job Description

The primary responsibility of a Student (System Integration Test) will be to design and develop system integration for Adtran Optical Networking’s NMS product line. This includes designing, implementing, and maintaining automated tests; working with testers and developers in a scrum team to deliver high-quality software iteratively; setting up test environments; documenting and tracking defects; and performing code reviews. Key technologies include Robot Framework, Java 17, and Git. The role requires good English communication skills, a self-motivated attitude, and a focus on teamwork and problem-solving.

Good To Have:

Knowledge or willingness to learn of telecommunication networks.
Experience in software testing methodologies.
Reading and making analysis of technical documentation.
Familiarity with continuous integration environment.

Must Have:

Experience in Robot Framework.
Experience in REST API.
Knowledge of Linux system.
Work experience with version control systems (git).
Student of Telecommunications, Computer Science or similar faculty.
Availability 24-40 hours per week.
Programming skills in Python and/or Java.
Good English communication skills.

The primary responsibility of a Student (System Integration Test) will be to design and develop system integration for Adtran Optical Networking’s NMS product line: Ensemble Controller – single management platform for advanced management of optical, Ethernet, and sync networks; TAPI – Telecommunication API, a standardized interface to orchestrate optical network.

Principle duties and essential functions

Design, implement and maintain automated tests; Execution and design of functional tests
Work together with testers and developers in scrum team delivering iteratively high-quality software
Design and test environment setup for various test scenarios, including the configuration of various WDM devices and simulators
Documentation and tracking of defects in the test/development management system
Performing code reviews to the team members

Key technologies and practices we use

Robot Framework + optionally Selenium
Java 17
Code review and continuous integration (Upsource and Gerrit)
Git repository and branching strategies (git flow),
Automated build system and test automation (TeamCity, Jenkins and Python)
Free to select convenient development environment (native Linux, docker, WSL) and IDE

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Experience in Robot Framework (knowledge of SeleniumLibrary would be a an advantage)
Experience in REST API
Knowledge of Linux system
Work experience with version control systems (git)
Student of Telecommunications, Computer Science or similar faculty
Availability 24-40h per week
Programming skills in Python and/or Java;
Good English communication skills (spoken and written)
Self-motivated person, teamwork oriented, focused on solving problems and desired to gain new knowledge

Additional, desired technical qualifications

Knowledge or willingness to learn of telecommunication networks, WDM area, Network Management Systems
Experience in software testing methodologies
Reading and making analysis of technical documentation
Familiarity with continuous integration environment (TeamCity, Jenkins), virtualization techniques (Docker, Virtual Machine), IP-based networks, TCP-based applications, REST
