Position Overview
The Studio Manager & Art Director will be responsible for managing the in-house studio’s day-to-day operations and setting the creative direction for all visual content. This role requires a blend of managerial and artistic expertise to produce high-quality product images, videos, and 3D visuals that align with Group Bayport’s brand strategy. The Studio Manager & Art Director will also collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure that all visual assets are produced efficiently, meet quality standards, and effectively communicate the brand’s message.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day studio operations, including scheduling, equipment management, and resource allocation.
Plan and organize photoshoots and video shoots based on product launch timelines, marketing campaigns, and merchandising requirements.
Ensure that all studio activities are conducted efficiently and that production schedules are met without compromising quality.
Maintain and upgrade studio equipment, such as cameras, lighting, and props, to keep up with industry standards and trends.
Act as the Art Director, setting the visual tone and creative direction for all product images, videos, and graphic elements.
Lead the creative team in developing concepts, storyboards, and mood boards for product photoshoots and videos.
Provide art direction during photoshoots and video shoots, ensuring that the visuals align with the brand’s style and aesthetics.
Review and approve final creative outputs, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to brand guidelines.
Manage and guide the creation of a wide range of visual assets, including:
Product images, zoom images, and feature images.
Lifestyle images that demonstrate product use and context.
3D rendered images and 3D videos for complex products.
Package inclusion images, installation images, and care instruction visuals.
Develop concepts for product videos, animated visuals, and interactive content as needed.
Ensure that all visuals accurately represent product features, benefits, and usage, providing a high-quality customer experience.
Work closely with Visual Merchandisers, who act as program managers and serve as the point of contact between the studio and external agency partner, Virtual Ops.
Align on visual strategies and creative direction to ensure studio-produced content complements outsourced creative outputs.
Provide guidance and feedback to Visual Merchandisers regarding the creative quality and production standards of studio assets.
Manage the studio team, including photographers, videographers, editors, and graphic designers, ensuring efficient resource utilization and workload distribution.
Plan and prioritize studio projects based on business needs, ensuring timely delivery of all visual content.
Allocate resources for special projects, large-scale content production, or seasonal campaigns, scaling up or down as required.
Implement quality control measures to review and approve all visual assets before publication.
Ensure that all visual content adheres to brand guidelines, maintaining consistency in color, tone, lighting, and overall style.
Regularly update visual guidelines and SOPs to reflect new brand strategies, product lines, or visual trends.
Stay updated on the latest visual merchandising, photography, and videography trends, tools, and techniques.
Experiment with new creative techniques, such as interactive content, 3D modeling, and augmented reality, to enhance the product presentation.
Propose and implement new creative ideas to continuously elevate the quality and engagement of visual content.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Merchandising, and Content) to align on campaign goals, product launches, and promotional strategies.
Act as the central point of contact for studio-related activities, facilitating communication and ensuring all stakeholders are aligned.
Provide strategic inputs on visual merchandising initiatives, content planning, and campaign development.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in studio management, art direction, or a similar role in an e-commerce or retail environment.
Proven experience in leading creative teams and managing studio operations.
Strong understanding of photography, videography, 3D rendering, and digital content creation.
Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), video editing software, and 3D modeling tools.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication and leadership skills, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
