As a Technical Artist, you will be a core part of a small, experienced team working on a new project. You will contribute to the project's direction from the early stages, bridging the gap between art and programming teams. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining pipeline tools, directing and supporting optimizations, ensuring visual quality, creating documentation, and acting as a focal point for technical art issues. The role involves participation in the entire development cycle of PC and console games, from prototypes to release.
Must have:

We are looking to grow our small but talented team, to build a fast-growing studio that can deliver best in class games, through the use of cutting-edge technology and innovation.
As an Unreal Engine focused studio, we are excited to build our technology based on the latest Unreal Engine 5 features so we are looking for skilled and passionate developers to help us achieve our goals.
To fulfil this mission, we are looking for a talented Technical Artist who is going to play a key role in the development of an upcoming PC & Console game. This is a remote first position and is an exceptional opportunity to become part of an innovative team composed by talented, creative and technically proficient developers.
This role requires the highest levels of passion and commitment, as well as exceptional technical ability.

Responsibilities

As a Technical Artist, you will form a core part of a small but experienced team on a new project. You will have the chance to join us at the early stages of a game and contribute to the shape and direction it takes. You will be the bridge between the art and programming teams. You will be involved in various areas of the game development process, from creating and maintaining pipeline tools to directing and supporting optimisations.

Key duties

  • Working closely with the art team to deliver the artistic vision within the project requirements
  • Implementing new tools & techniques that increase the quality and efficiency of 3D asset production
  • Ensuring the visual quality of the project on PC and console
  • Creating pipeline documentation and sharing knowledge within the team
  • Being a focal point for technical art issues both for internal team and external partners
  • Participating in the full development cycle of console and PC games, from prototypes to release

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

Profile

We are looking for an experienced Technical Artist with an aptitude for communication and collaboration who has at least 3 years of experience in the game industry.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the Unreal Engine
  • At least 3 years of experience with Maya, 3D Studio Max and other programs such as Substance Designer/Painter, Zbrush etc.
  • Experience with Houdini
  • Experience in photogrammetry and laser scan data acquisition
  • Proven experience in PC & console development with at least two shipped titles
  • Experience creating shaders within Unreal Engine
  • Experience creating particle systems within Unreal Engine
  • Experience with blueprints and their implementation
  • Strong problem solving, conceptual and analytical skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  • Proficient in English
  • Portfolio with some personal work showcases (demo reel required)
