Overview

As a Technical Program Manager II, you will be an integral driver for the Windows Application Compatibility team’s charter. The Compat team ensures that the Windows OS continues to be the platform of choice in the ecosystem. Our job is to ensure that millions of unique applications and devices “just work.” This sounds simple, but it’s a deep and broad space that offers a lot of complexity and learnings. Your role will be as a partner to the engineering team that owns a number of critical toolsets and infrastructure. The team’s charter is to maintain and improve in-box infrastructure to mitigate Compatibility issues in market, and support toolsets that internal teams use to develop their features as Compatible by design.

As part of this team, you’ll be working closely with a team of engineers that maintain in-box infrastructure and tooling. This means driving feature work with existing technology, including planning activities and spec writing. This role also includes building new features to extend in-box capabilities so the team can respond to new in-market changes and organizational priorities. The role also includes building partnerships within the Windows organization and other areas of Compatibility that drive automated and manual validation

If improving the experience for over a billion users excites you, if you have a real passion to support customers and understand the complexity of the OS while working with a supportive and dynamic team, then please reach out. We’d love to hear from you!

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.
