Accounts Receivable Specialist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to work for North American Finance Service Centre (NAFSC) is one of three Finance Service Centers at Rolls-Royce and a part of Finance Operations in Global Business Services.  The Finance Service Centers provide transactional finance support for and on behalf of Rolls-Royce Finance and the wider business. With departments of Financial Accounting and Reporting (FA&R), Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), the service centers are integral to Rolls-Royce's finance strategy in ensuring that transactional finance processes are delivered efficiently and effectively both to meet customer requirements and in order to enable scalable future growth and expansion.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will work as part of the North American Finance Service Center (NAFSC) and will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to transacting key business processes on behalf of many of our North American businesses. This role is part of the Credit & Collections team within the NAFSC, which allows for cross training on several tasks supporting several business transactions.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate and clear cash receipts (including down payments) and ensure correct accounting and reconciliation through to the General Ledger as well as complete weekly cash forecast for RRSA
  • Complete the trade AR cash collection process including customer account research, contact customers to confirm timely payment, resolve customer issues originally as well as in conjunction with the appropriate finance business partner and/or commercial team member
  • Guide the RR Solutions America business including Government accounts which requires interaction with NAFSC Billing and RR Solutions Sales/Government Teams
  • Monitor A/R shared mailbox daily to ensure all sales orders are released (if appropriate) before the end of business day
  • Complete assigned month-end close tasks such as reconciliation of internal account, review of unapplied cash and send customer statements
  • Compile delinquency reports with appropriate commentary to support regular Business/Sector Debt Review Meetings and present to Finance executives

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate degree in a math or financial discipline with 3 + years of accounting experience OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a math or financial discipline and 1+ years of accounting experience OR
  • Masters degree in a math or financial discipline OR
  • Experience in Lieu of degree with 5 + years of accounting experience
  • To be considered for this role you need to be a US Citizen.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Current experience with SAP
  • Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment that is highly deadline-driven
  • Previous accounts receivable experience proactively engaging with customers
  • Proficient in Excel (VLookup, Pivot Tables, Macros)
