Job Description

This Assembly Technician position in Duncan, SC, involves assembling and disassembling parts using various tools and equipment in an industrial setting. Responsibilities include assisting with 5s and cleaning procedures, resolving quality and production issues, testing and inspecting according to engineering drawings, working with electrical and mechanical equipment, troubleshooting, repairing, and reassembling faulty equipment, maintaining assembly and test equipment, and moving materials. The role requires strong listening, communication, and teamwork skills.

  • 1+ years of assembly experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Ability to use tools and equipment for assembly operations in an industrial setting

This position is located in the Duncan, Spartanburg area. We have been in operation for over 50 years and offer fantastic benefits and a stable work environment. 1st shift position. Current 1st shift hours are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday-Friday. Starting Salary for this position is $18.50 +

You will be responsible for assembling and disassembling assembly parts, as well as having the ability to use tools and equipment that are needed to perform the operations in an industrial setting. You will make a difference by being a team player and have great listening and communication skills.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Assist in daily 5s and cleaning procedures.
  • Assists others in obtaining solutions to quality and production issues.
  • Other duties as may be required or assigned.
  • Assemble, test, and inspect according to engineering drawings and test codes
  • Work with electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Disassemble, troubleshoot, repair, and reassemble equipment that does not pass the test.
  • Maintain assembly and test equipment as required
  • Move material to and from the workstation by hand, cart, and crane as required
  • Adhere to all safety rules and procedures and maintain good housekeeping

While performing this job's duties, for the work shift, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an indoor manufacturing environment. The employee will work in areas exposed to production activities including but not limited to production machinery, assembly operations, overhead crane usage, and forklift traffic. The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to workplace hazards.

Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information, and documents; analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills, and interact with other employees, customers, and vendors.
