AECOM is seeking a Chief Safety Expert with a Civil Engineering background to join their team in Dhubri. The role involves serving as a lead engineer on mid- to large-size projects, providing specialized technical input, approving work, and presenting complex technical solutions to clients. The Chief Safety Expert will also perform quality control reviews, participate in technical proposal development, and provide engineering budget and schedule estimates. Must have:
  • Graduate in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in Bridge projects
  • Experience in minimum 3 countries
  • Experience in similar capacity in major Bridge projects
  • Experience in Road and Bridge Safety Audits
  • Experience in identification and improvement of black spots
Good to have:
  • Post Graduate in Highway Engineering / Transportation Engineering
  • Professional Certificate recognized by statuary body on Safety & Construction
  • Minimum two years of experience in a foreign country
  • Experience in Safety Management Plans for Construction of Bridge projects
  • Experience in Road Safety Management Plans in Bridge projects

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Chief Safety Expert with a background in Civil Engineering to join our team in Dhubri.:

Responsibility -

• Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects.
• Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
• Approves and signs off on work.
• Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
• Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
• Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
• Participates in development of technical proposals.
• Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.

Qualifications

(1) Graduate in Civil Engineering
(2)Additional Desirable Qualification;
Post Graduate in Highway Engineering / Transportation Engineering / Professional Certificate recognized by statuary body on Safety & Construction
Experience:
(3) Professional Experience in Bridge projects: Aggregate minimum 15 years of professional experience in minimum 3 countries (which may include their home country) with minimum two years in foreign country (other than home country).
(4) Experience in Similar Capacity* in major Bridge projects either Cable stayed or Cable suspension or Extradosed or pre-stressed bridge of 2/4/6 lane for highway/expressway/rail cum road bridge on Design, Engineering, Procurement, Supply And Construction basis over Sea/ Creek/ Perennial River/ Estuary.
(5) Experience in Similar Capacity* in Road and Bridge Safety Audits of Minimum 2 Bridge Projects either Cable stayed or Cable suspension or Extradosed or pre-stressed bridge of 2/4/6 lane for highway/expressway/rail cum road bridge on Design, Engineering, Procurement, Supply And Construction basis.
(6) Experience in Similar Capacity* in Road and Bridge identification and improvement of black spots in at least 2 Highway Projects,
(7) Experience in Similar Capacity* of preparation of Safety Management Plans for Construction of Bridge projects either Cable stayed or Cable suspension or Extradosed or pre-stressed bridge of 2/4/6 lane for highway/expressway/rail cum road bridge.
(9) Experience in Similar Capacity* in field of Road Safety Management Plans in Bridge projects. Minimum 1 project.
(9) Age: Not more than 60 years.

Note: Similar Capacity includes the following positions:
i) On behalf of Consultant: Team Leader/ Resident Engineer/Safety Expert (Construction 
Supervision/ IE/ AE).
ii) On behalf of Contractor: Project Director/ Project Manager/Safety Expert (Construction/ 
Construction Supervision).
iii) In Government Organizations: Superintending Engineer (or equivalent) and above.
