The Technical Product Manager will lead the entire product lifecycle for data products, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer requirements. They will manage the product backlog, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop product roadmaps. Responsibilities include writing user stories, conducting market analysis, monitoring product performance, and leading agile ceremonies. The role involves managing SaaS solutions, mentoring teams, and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical collaborators. The candidate will also assist in product strategy and oversee the development of new data products. They will enforce LSEG Group Standards for project methodology, governance, and risk management.
Must have:

Job Details

Role Profile

You will be leading the end-to-end lifecycle management of our data products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to successfully deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs and business goals.

The results for DORT have high impact and are critical to comply to the regulatory reporting and data asks from Group Risk, Operational Resilience and Data Governance Teams. The Technical Product Manager will liaise with Product Owners, Project Management and Delivery SMEs to ensure the technology we delivery aligns to the business strategy and customer expectations. During Operations, they will work with our Operations and Service Management team to formalise operational delivery plans and agree targets operational metrics

The Product Manager lead projects across the data lifecycle to ensure delivery that is on time, in budget and within scope. Also, can deliver high-quality work, while collaborating and brainstorming with other creative, knowledgeable colleagues in a multifaceted, high-energy environment. Strong planning, organization and time management skills are key along with the ability to manage multiple complex projects at any one time.

The role sits within the Corporate Technology Delivery function reporting to the Senior Product Manager

and provides technology services to Corporate Functions Teams for LSEG. The role holder will collaborate across the function, being an advocate for their own delivery projects and harnessing support where required for cross-function deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Lifecycle Management: Responsible for the entire product life cycle from conceptualisation to retirement, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer requirements.
  • Backlog Management: Prioritize and lead the product backlog, ensuring that the development team has a clear understanding of the product vision and requirements.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with partners, including customers, sales, marketing, and engineering teams, to gather requirements and define product features.
  • Roadmap Development: Develop and maintain a product roadmap that outlines the strategic direction and project milestones for product development.
  • Business Requirements: Write detailed user-stories and acceptance criteria to guide the team in delivering high-quality features.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the industry.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor product performance and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous enhancement.
  • Agile Practices: Lead agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to ensure efficient and effective product development.
  • SaaS Solutions Management: Lead the development and lifecycle of SaaS solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • People Management: Lead and mentor a team of product owners and developers, fostering a high-performance work environment.
  • Agile Methodology: Work effectively within an agile team, promoting agile principles and practices to enhance team performance.
  • Presentation and Communication: Deliver compelling presentations and communicate optimally with both technical and non-technical collaborators.
  • Business Analysis: Conduct detailed business analysis to understand and document business requirements, processes, and workflows.
  • Consulting: Assist internal and external team members on product strategy, implementation, and optimization.
  • Data Product Development: Oversee development of new data products, maximising data analytics and insights to create innovative solutions.
  • Enforce LSEG Group Standards for project methodology, governance, and risk management

Candidate Profile / Key Skills

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the management of Non-Financial Risk in a Financial entity e.g. Controls, Risk Frameworks, Risk Mitigation
  • Understanding of Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Resilience in a Financial Institution
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management, with a focus on technical products and lifecycle management of above areas
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, with specialization around technology product management
  • Technical Skills: Solid understanding of software development processes, agile methodologies, and technical product management.
  • SaaS Expertise: Proven experience in handling SaaS solutions, including deployment, maintenance, and optimization.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical collaborators.
  • Leadership: Consistent track record to lead and motivate teams to achieve product goals.
  • People Management: Strong people leadership skills, with experience in team building, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Agile methods Experience: Hands-on experience working in an agile framework.
  • Storytelling Skills: A good story teller who can simplify the high level requirements, and ability to deliver clear and engaging presentations.
  • Business Analysis: Proficient in business analysis techniques and tools.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Experience in providing consulting services and strategic advice.
  • Data Product Management: Experience in developing data products and running data analytics.
