Tesla Energy is seeking a Commercial Energy Asset Manager for EMEA, based in Amsterdam, to manage the operational and commercial aspects of battery storage projects (Powerwall and Megapack). This role involves monitoring performance, ensuring compliance, managing stakeholder relationships (internal and external, including customers and field service teams), negotiating contract renewals, and optimizing revenue and risk. Responsibilities include collaborating with internal teams to improve operational metrics, ensuring safe and efficient operations, resolving legal and commercial issues, and working with finance and accounting teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project finance, legal contracts, accounting, and energy market trends, combined with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

What to Expect

Tesla Energy department is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to support the operation of battery storage systems in EMEA. Based in Amsterdam, this role will report directly into the EMEA Service Manager.

The EMEA Commercial Energy Asset Manager will manage the commercial and operational tasks for battery storage energy projects in the region. This will include continuous assessment and improvement of operations, system performance, and profitability at each site. This role will act as a bridge between customers and other Tesla teams, withing the Energy department. The role will ensure successful operations and maximize customer satisfaction for our Powerwall and Megapack fleet.

What You’ll Do
  • In coordination with other internal teams, monitor and challenge the operational performance and optimization metrics to achieve the project’s highest possible availability and gross profit
  • Work closely with the onsite operations team to ensure safe and efficient operations of the asset
  • Ensure compliance with all project’s governing documents and manage and resolve legal, contractual, regulatory, and commercial issues as they arise
  • Manage day-to-day stakeholder relationships internally and externally (For example customers, field service teams, finance / accounting teams, operate etc.)
  • Review reoccurring reports on project performance as needed per contractual obligations and drive the closure of open cases / inquiries across the portfolio
  • Negotiate contracts renewals as needed
  • Monitor and influence all maintenance and operations for the assets based on fleet health, organizational priorities, and current fiscal relationship with end customer
  • Work with internal and external resources to develop strategies that maximize revenue and reduce risk and market exposure of the asset
What You’ll Bring
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to effectively multitask managing heavy workload
  • Intimate knowledge of the energy and renewable energy market, and the ability to stay current with changing technologies, regulations, and trends influencing the continued adoption of renewable energy
  • Commercial mindset, strong prioritization, communication, and organizational skills
  • Understanding of integrated system design and operations. Prior operational experience at solar, wind, thermal, coal, hydro, or nuclear industries a plus
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire people to action through his/her influence
  • Strong understanding of project finance, legal contracts, accounting, and contract/warranty negotiations.
  • Self-motived with the ability to work with little supervision
  • Strong learning skills with aptitude to independently research, understand, and implement knowledge in new areas
  • Experience with standard financial metrics and analysis
  • Background in Engineering, Business, or equivalent industry experience
