Description

Title: Competitive Intelligence Manager

Come join the leader in data security. Varonis is the only publicly traded data security company with over 7,000 customers who trust us to protect their most valuable data against cyberattacks.
We are seeking a highly technical and articulate product marketer to lead our competitive intelligence program. In this role, you will research competitors, devise plays, and build tools to help sales win deals. In short: your job is to win.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that our marketing messaging and positioning is highly differentiated against direct and indirect competitors.
The ideal candidate will have an insatiable curiosity about the cybersecurity landscape and already monitors the market’s every move like a hawk.

Key responsibilities:
•    Market analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify our direct and indirect competitors. Understand their strategies, strengths, weaknesses, and market positioning. Regularly update our competitive intel database.
•    Create winning plays: Take everything you know about the competition – their products, leadership, history, tactics – and devise plays that help Varonis win.
•    Content creation: Create tools to support the selling process, including battle cards, kill sheets, customer-facing competitive assets, feature and positioning comparisons, technical whitepapers, etc.
•    Sales Enablement: Train sales on how to run the plays you create. Develop educational materials and case studies that teach sales how to handle objections and navigate competitive situations.
•    Deal support: Provide strategic support on competitive sales deals, using expertise to proactively address competitor-specific challenges.
•    Messaging & positioning: Collaborate with the marketing and product teams to refine Varonis’s messaging and positioning, ensuring it resonates with our target audience and clearly differentiates us from the competition.
•    Communication: Send weekly reports on the competitive landscape, including market trends, competitor product updates, and shifts in strategy.
•    Win-loss analysis: Assist in regular win-loss analysis with product marketing to enhance competitive conversion rates.

The ideal candidate will have:
•    5+ years of experience in the cybersecurity market, with a strong focus on data, identity, and cloud security.
•    3+ years of relevant work experience. Ideal candidates will have experience in at least one of the following areas: product marketing, solutions marketing, competitive intelligence, technical marketing, sales engineering/pre-sales, or product management.
•    Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills with an impeccable attention to detail.
•    Proven ability to create impactful competitive messaging. Proficiency in simplifying technical ideas into practical and succinct executive summaries.
•    Experience presenting to executives.
•    Insatiable curiosity about the cybersecurity market.
•    Strong technical foundation.
•    A bias for action with a track record of taking projects from idea to execution to results.

This position is remote with occasional travel to Varonis HQ in New York City and to corporate tradeshows. Regular remote meetings with colleagues with Israel is required.
