Founded in 1994, Sports Interactive became a wholly owned subsidiary of SEGA Europe in 2006. Based at the Here East technology hub in Stratford, East London, the SI team continues to expand as we bring our titles to an ever-growing audience across an increasing variety of platforms.

Position Overview

This is an exciting role working in the football Data Team and reporting to the Senior Research Co-Ordinator. The data analyst will be expected to interpret the data in our football database used to power our suite of games or real life statistical and event data from our data partners to find trends and anomalies and present findings to the research team in order to help them with any decision making regarding the data.

Our football database is collated and collected from the work that our Head Researchers and volunteer Assistant Researchers do by scouting specific teams, leagues and in some cases nations and whose responsibility is making sure that all information is up to date and correct.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will be expected to:

•    Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
•    Present findings in a clear and concise manner
•    Report regularly to Senior Research Co-Ordinator
•    Attend daily stand-up meetings
•    Minimum of two years’ experience in data analysis

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

•    Demonstrable high-level experience within a data analytical role, preferably 2- 5 years in a similar role
•    Self-starter, passionate about data analytics to drive continuous improvement
•    Strong interest in football
•    Good knowledge of reporting tools SQL (ideally MySQL)
•    Good knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (Excel, Tableau, PowerBI)
•    Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
•    Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.

Desirable Skills:

•    Football scouting experience or qualifications
•    Football analyst experience or qualifications
•    Knowledge of Football Manager
