This senior sales leadership role focuses on driving Data, Apps, and AI revenue within Microsoft's SMC growth business. The Data, Apps & AI Specialist will lead a virtual team, exceeding quarterly targets by identifying new opportunities, collaborating with technical and partner resources, and engaging customers to support their cloud migration, data modernization, and AI innovation. Responsibilities include qualifying opportunities, maximizing market potential, driving partner collaboration, and ensuring strong program usage. The role requires expertise in Data Modernization, Analytics, and AI, along with solution sales and consulting experience in cloud-based data solutions (Data Warehouse, Hadoop, Spark, Data Lake, SQL, NoSQL, and Machine Learning). The position offers flexible work arrangements (up to 50% remote) and opportunities for career growth within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Must have:

As an Azure Data, Apps & AI Specialist you will be a senior solution sales leader within our Small, Medium and Corporate growth business, leading a virtual team of technical, partner and consulting resources to advance the sales process and achieve/exceed quarterly Data, Apps & AI revenue and usage/consumption targets in your assigned accounts. This includes winning the database platform, supporting customers’ migration to the cloud, their data platform modernisation aspirations and supporting new application development. You will also support your customers in innovating with AI, building AI into their customer facing solutions and supporting their internal operations in driving efficiency and automation. You will be a trusted advisor and Analytics, Data Apps & AI subject matter expert with core capability and expertise in Data Modernization, Analytics and AI. 

 

You will work with customers to leverage data to help them achieve their business priorities and help guide customer’s journey through Analytics-led Azure Data transformation. You will help customers evaluate their applications and business requirements, recommend solutions that meet their requirements and demonstrate these solutions to win the technical decision. You will need to support customers to remove roadblocks to deployment and drive customer satisfaction. You will help our customers take advantage of our unique hybrid data platform and leading Analytics, Apps & AI solutions to realize the value of digital transformation.   This opportunity will allow you to accelerate your career growth, honing your solution sales and collaboration skills, and deepening your cloud expertise. This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated technology-related sales or account management experience

OR Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field AND demonstrated technology-related sales or account management experience, OR equivalent experience

  • Solution sales or consulting services sales experience working with Data solutions (Cloud-based Data Warehouse, Hadoop, Spark, Data Lake, SQL solutions required MySQL, PostreSQL, NoSQL (Mongo), and Machine Learning solutions desired.

This role is based in either UK (Reading) or Ireland.  You should be a tax redisent currently of UK or Ireland, no relocation offered.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new data, AI and application development opportunities with the support of marketing signals, existing customer usage and targeted business development activities
  • Collaborate with a team of technical, partner, and consulting resources to advance the sales process and exceed quarterly Data, Apps & AI revenue targets in your assigned accounts. ​​
  • Engage in conversation with customers aligned to their industry and collaborates with account and partner team to drive and qualify new opportunities and build pipeline.
  • Maximise key market opportunities to accelerate consumption (e.g. end of life campaigns, data centre exit,  data driven targeting based on usage, trial conversion, competitive moments) 
  • Identify customer business and technology readiness
  • Strong program usage to show Microsoft’s commitment to our customers (skilling, presales funding, solution assessments, FastTrack advisory)
  • Drive strong partner collaboration on sales opportunities to accelerate velocity and consumption growth.
  • Set up events within Microsoft, mentor others and develops strategies for best practice sharing​
  • Drives the execution of projects, partners and collaborates with other teams on related deliverables, and leverages others in relevant work streams.​
