Job Description

The Data IO Assistant is a junior-level role within DNEG's editorial team, working under the guidance of the Editorial IO Supervisor. This position is responsible for ingesting, processing, and delivering data to various teams across the facility, ensuring seamless workflows for clients. Key responsibilities include downloading material from client servers, processing scans, validating and quality-checking processed scans and other material, informing production teams and editors about the availability of ingested material, validating material scheduled for upload, uploading material to client servers, and publishing material into the DNEG pipeline. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Linux, basic knowledge of file formats, and experience with film cameras, recording formats, and aspect ratios. They should be able to meet deadlines, work with high volumes of data, and demonstrate impeccable accuracy and attention to detail.

Position at DNEG

Key Purpose of the Job:

A junior level role at DNEG, the Data IO Assistant is part of the editorial team; guided by the Editorial IO Supervisor they assist various groups throughout the facility with data being ingested, published and delivered back to the clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for:

Downloading material from the client’s servers
Processing scans
Validating/QC-ing processed scans and other material
Informing show production teams/Editors that material is available for ingest
Validating material which is scheduled for upload
Uploading material to client’s servers
Publishing material into the DNEG pipeline

Skills and Abilities:

The following skills and abilities would be desirable:

Knowledge of Linux is must
Basic knowledge of file formats
Basic knowledge of film cameras, recording formats, aspect ratio
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work with high volumes of data
Impeccable accuracy and attention to detail
