Job Description

Apexon is seeking an experienced enterprise architect (technical applications architect) to support the Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) within the (MDHHS). This role will focus on designing and implementing technology solutions to modernize public health data systems, helping MDHHS improve data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency. You'll be responsible for developing a technical roadmap for MDHHS's data modernization aligned with CDC priorities, architecting scalable, secure public health data systems for improved surveillance, analysis, and decision-making, driving innovative data solutions to enhance data collection and dissemination, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure effective use of modern data technologies and best practices.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Technical proficiency in programming, database management, system design, networking, cloud services, DevOps, and cybersecurity.
Hands-on experience in roles such as software developer, systems analyst, or network engineer.
Leadership and communications skills to lead teams and translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Strategic planning skills to outline technology direction and align IT strategy with business goals.
Modeling and Diagramming Tools proficiency for system design.
Systems Integration experience to create cohesive solutions meeting organizational needs.
Security knowledge to protect sensitive public health data.
Familiarity with DevOps methodologies for efficient deployment and operational processes.

Good to have:

Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in cloud computing, cybersecurity, or enterprise architecture.
Certifications in TOGAF or AWS Solutions Architect.
Project leadership experience in system architecture.
Experience in public or government health is preferred.

Role Description:

We are seeking an experienced enterprise architect (technical applications architect) to support the Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) within the (MDHHS). This role will focus on designing and implementing technology solutions to modernize public health data systems, helping MDHHS improve data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency.

You’ll be responsible for (Responsibilities):

Key Responsibilities

Develop a technical roadmap for MDHHS's data modernization aligned with CDC priorities.
Architect scalable, secure public health data systems for improved surveillance, analysis, and decision-making.
Drive innovative data solutions to enhance data collection and dissemination.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective use of modern data technologies and best practices.

Required Skills:

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in cloud computing, cybersecurity, or enterprise architecture.
Certifications in TOGAF or AWS Solutions Architect.
Project leadership experience in system architecture.

Experience in public or government health is preferred.
