Job Description

Behaviour Interactive seeks a talented Graphics Programmer to join the Dead by Daylight team. This role involves collaborating with designers, artists, and other developers to implement and optimize rendering features, create tools for special effects and debugging, and integrate cutting-edge rendering techniques across PC, Xbox (Series X/One), PlayStation (5/4), and Nintendo Switch. Responsibilities include performance monitoring and improvement, bug fixing within the live game environment, and participation in technical design and code reviews. The ideal candidate will possess at least 3 years of experience in game graphics programming, strong 3D graphics fundamentals, knowledge of modern APIs (DirectX, Vulkan), experience with C++11/14, and a collaborative spirit. Experience with profiling tools and Unreal Engine is a plus.
Must have:
  • 3+ years game graphics programming experience
  • Strong 3D graphics principles understanding
  • DirectX/Vulkan API knowledge, HLSL shading languages
  • Modern C++11/14 proficiency
  • Solution-oriented and collaborative
Good to have:
  • Console profiling experience
  • Unreal Engine 4 or 5 experience

We are seeking a talented Graphics Programmer to join the dynamic Dead by Daylight graphics team. As part of an evolving Game as a Service (GaaS) title on PC and console, Dead by Daylight offers unique challenges and creative opportunities in real-time rendering.

Working closely with a diverse group of professionals across programming, design, art, and animation, our graphics team tackles a broad range of rendering features and optimizations to deliver a high-quality, immersive gaming experience. If you’re passionate about pushing the boundaries of game graphics, we’d love to hear from you!

In this role you will:

    • Collaborate with design, artists and other developers to implement and optimize rendering features as well as rendering pipeline tools such as game specific special effects, debug / profiling tools, integration or implementation of state-of-the-art rendering techniques on PC, XBOX Series X, XBOX One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch; 
    • Monitor and improve rendering performance through profiling and optimization on all supported platforms; 
    • Fix bugs related to your area of work. Dead by Daylight is a live game as a service where features get added and others; improved continuously. Bugs come in all shapes, forms, and priorities, from a simple fix, to a very hard to reproduce critical issue; 
    • Participate in technical design and code reviews. 

What we're looking for:

    • This is an intermediate role. You need to have at least 3 years of experience in the gaming industry with a focus on graphics programming;
    • You need to have a strong understanding of 3D graphics principles, including shading, lighting, texturing, and rendering techniques;
    • Good knowledge of modern graphics APIs like DirectX11/12, Vulkan and shading languages like HLSL;
    • Experience with modern C++ 11/14;
    • You need to be solution-oriented and possess a collaborative spirit;
    • Prior experience with profiling and profiling tools on console is a plus;
    • Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5 is a plus.
