About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Head of Maps Operations to lead our Maps Operations team and play a pivotal role in optimizing and scaling the geospatial technology that powers ourservice.. In this leadership position, you will oversee all aspects of maps data management, map updates, geospatial accuracy, and operational efficiency, ensuring that our platform’s mapping systems are reliable, accurate, and scalable.

You will work cross-functionally with engineering, product, data science, and operations teams to define the roadmap for our map services and execute on initiatives that drive customer experience improvements, operational efficiency, and product innovation. You will also manage a great team and play a key role in the development of strategies to improve route optimization, navigation precision, and geographic coverage.

What You Will Do

    • Lead and manage the Maps Operations team to ensure seamless operation of map data, system performance, and timely updates across all locations.
    • Oversee map data management, including sourcing, curating, and updating geospatial data from multiple sources to maintain accuracy and reliability.
    • Develop and execute the strategy for map operations, including optimizing routing algorithms and working on map updates to ensure real-time accuracy.
    • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align mapping needs with business objectives and drive innovations in map technology.
    • Define KPIs for map performance, monitor, and analyze system metrics to identify areas for improvement.
    • Drive the adoption of new mapping tools and technologies that can enhance the user experience and optimize operational efficiency.
    • Provide leadership and mentorship to the Maps Operations team, driving a high-performance culture and fostering professional development.

What You Will Need

    • 10+ years experience in geospatial operations, mapping technology, or related fields. 
    • Strong understanding of mapping platforms (e.g., Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, TomTom), geospatial data, and map-based systems.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and a focus on operational excellence and delivering measurable outcomes.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams toward a shared vision.
