Looker Data Engineer

We are looking for a Looker Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize data models and pipelines using LookML and GCP tools to enable efficient data exploration and visualization in Looker. This role involves transforming raw data into actionable insights by implementing business logic, ensuring data quality, and creating intuitive dashboards.

What will you do? 🧭

• Data Modeling in Looker: Creating and managing LookML models, which involve defining explores, views, dimensions, and measures to structure how data is queried and visualized in Looker.
• Data Pipeline Development: Building and maintaining ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using Datastream, Dataproc, and Dataflow to ensure that data is accurately transformed and loaded into data warehouses like BigQuery.
  
• Data Transformation: Implementing business logic and data transformations within the data pipeline to ensure that the data is in the correct format and structure for analysis.
  
• Dashboard and Visualization Creation: Developing dashboards in Looker to present insights and metrics in a user-friendly way.
  
• Data Extraction and Integration: Creating extractors or connectors to pull data from various sources into Looker and BigQuery, ensuring seamless data integration.
  
• Customer Interaction: Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their data needs, gather requirements, and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.

Must haves 🔥

• Experience in GCP Data Engineering environment
  
• Experience with data visualization and data analysis
  
• Experience with SQL or Python to clean, transform, and prepare data
  
• Technical expertise regarding data models and database design development
  
• Proven working experience with Datastream, Dataproc, and Dataflow, BigQuery and Looker
  
• VertexAI knowledge or experience is a plus
• Fluent and confident communication skills in English (C1)
