  • Ensure correct material and quantities are delivered to the job cell on time.
  • Highlight and escalate any material receipt or start date impacts to relevant leads.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reviews individual production job schedules and ensures material is delivered to the job cell prior to the scheduled start date. An ideal candidate must possess the ability to multitask in a changing environment and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work under pressure, balancing conflicting priorities and resource constraints, and have the ability to analyze and reconcile material issues.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Material Tracking and Expediting:
  • Daily or weekly runs the area production schedule to review current and upcoming jobs planned start and finish date.
  • For each job, looks at the status of material procurement, material delivery, and material receipt.
  • Check that material quantities are accounted for and properly labeled (whether purchased, pulled from stock, or delivered from support areas such as machine shop, laser, etc).
  • Issue pick lists using online systems to have material pulled to the respective area.
  • Stage and Kit material so parts can be easily identified for the production area to use.
  • It is the ultimate responsibility of the Material Coordinator to ensure the material arrives in the correct material and quantities and delivered to the job cell prior to the planned start date.
  • In the event ANYTHING happens that could impact the material receipt date and impact the planned start date, it must be highlighted and escalated to the Scheduler / Planner and Shop lead for that area.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years' experience in Material Coordinator/Production Control role
  • Working knowledge of computer programs and software
  • Must be comfortable in manufacturing setting
  • Must possess strong leadership, analytical thinking, effective/professional communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with persons inside and outside of the company
  • Must have the ability to perform mathematical calculations related to job requirements
  • Must be able to work well under stress
  • Must be a team player and be willing to help out when needed
  • Forklift experience would put you ahead, but not required
